I have a quick question regarding 301 redirects and how it actually works.

    Say if I had site A; cnn.com

    -301-

    To site B; yahoo.com/subpage

Would the PR from site A transfer to the subpage of site B or would the PR go directly to the homepage of site B?

One follow up question I always had on my mind.

What happens when the domain that's being 301'd expires? Will the PR of the new site go back down?

When 301 the domain to sub page, PR will move to the page, you are redirecting.

PR will retain even after the domain expires

So, if I've got you right, after 301 redirect we shouldn't keep 2 domains, right?
I mean can we just left the old domain that was redirected via 301 to new domain and let it expire?

Until the next PR update, then it will go away... unless you have built sufficient links to keep the same PR.

Thanks for the reply's guys. I check this morning and for some reason the both sites are showing me a PR of 0. Is this normal?

    The original PR was 3.

It may take a little while for the toolbar to catch up with the redirect.
