300th Post - Follow an Offline Journey Selling Shit To Small Businesses

    Okay for my 300th post I'm going to do a journey selling a program i created for a specific small business niche. Everyday this week i am going to make 5 cold calls and post the results. Im only counting calls that i get through to speak to someone on, I'm limiting it to 5 cause I'm a busy mother fucker and make money doing other things but if this turns lucrative i will scale up, i think each phone call if i get decision maker will last 30 minutes minimum to go through everything. So I'm devoting about 2-3 hours a day to this.

    Im not selling seo services, rep management, local seo (AT FIRST) i simply made a small program that every business should need/want and cream their pants when they see it. I converted it into a widget (horizontal and vertical) and can be implemented with ease on their site.

    The bennies of this widget will increase conversions, gather more leads and increase door traffic for the business. I actually have 3 widgets that I'm making and 1 is complete and the other 2 should be done in another 2 weeks. They are all different from each other and all I'm saying is one is in the electronics industry, finance industry and lastly the gift industry.

    Im going to post exactly what i make from it, and anything else i make by getting my foot into the door, this is a great way to get your foot into the door vs the tired route of calling up and saying "hi do you need a website or seo"? that's an automatic hangup.

    Im selling it with limitations for $199 a year fee. Developer license will be $999 I can target anyone in the US, Ill start locally and if its in the evening make calls to the west coast if I'm doing it at night.

    30 minutes on the phone with a decision maker? I think that's wishful thinking, unless you're planning to drug them.

    Yea, let us know - I know the company where I work, we get sales calls every day. I normally speak to them, if the product sounds good then I ask them to email details over so I can think about it. If it sounds really good I would arrange a in person meeting to discuss further.
    If they said to me let me explain the whole thing to you over the phone, I would say no - not enough time.

    Maybe you should be trying to book meetings, or if you cant meet physically, then call up with the aim of booking a phone meeting/skype call or whatever.
    I just think if you have that much to say to people to close the deal, they will be put off as they are always likely to be in the middle of something when you call.

    yes David, that is what I'm going for, a foot in the door, i think i can explain faster but they would need to be infront pf pc to show them. Either way if i can book an appointment/meeting that is good too, ill let you guys know monday this is the first time I'm trying something like this, so I'm kind of new to it.

    no bites yet, i think i may be coming off sounding kind of aggressive with the way i speak, i need to learn to be a gentlemen not a bulldog.

    I did 5 calls a day- 15 in total but nada, doesn't matter, i just want one sale a week to see some movement, plus I'm not making that many calls. Most are kinda interested but wtf everyone seems so busy.

    With X'mas & New Year approaching, most people are busy. This might not be the ideal time to sell your service. Wait till mid-Jan, when people are back in the mood and think about business.

    I think you might need to make more calls a day and just focus on setting appointments to demo your product. Personally I would aim for 100 calls a day with a 1% conversion ratio (appointment set) to be realistic. If your product is good and you optimize your sells funnel you should be in good shape. Once you find a method that works you can hire telemarketers.
