Found a nice niche with 27000 searches and not too much competition.

Willing to spent about $300 on the following:

- articles (maybe 15)

- quality backilnking (senuke/directories etc...)

- some PPC advertising

How do you guys think I should go about this?

Bear in mind that the top 10 spots of the search are domianated by amazon and other big companies (even though their backlinks to that page are 0).

Would $300 pumped into this get me in the top 3?

Any other ideas to spend the money?

Thanks

i does not cost anything to rank.. but work.
if you want to spend money on this..
use it to buy links. but i guess you dont need to.
articles are almost useless when you don't know the rigth places to post them.
many people still claim you would have to write them to rank. you can, but you would have to write a lot.
and if it's your fist website... you have to start somewhere.

here is how you do it.
find blog posts and forum threads related to you keyword and make a comment whit you link.

that doesn't mean a thing at all.

Cheers, but I have been doing that without much success. My site is still in the depths of google searches!

Use a linkwheel ( search the forum) it's free and with 27000 searches and not too much competition. it should cost you a dime.

I wouldn't spend a thing, because even if you get that top spot, there is no guarantee you will hold it for long.

Do the things that are free or cheap first, social book mark it, spend a few bucks on get a freelancer to hire a link builder. Some articles can't hurt, YouTube Vid, blog links, buy an xrumer blast for $8.

If after a few months you are still holding that spot, great. Keep the $300 bucks, but if you have fallen off, then invest it back into more link building.

Cheers all. And yeah kouxx, the site isnt too old really.

I can recommend krishananda (see the services sub-froum) if you want to save some time from having to social bookmark manually. I think I paid $8 or $9 for 125 submissions and was pretty pleased with the service.

Like already mentioned, continuing to build backlinks will be key to keeping yourself in the top 3 spots once you've reached that goal.

Good luck

senuke + directories is not "quality back linking"

Work on Articles, page content, correct onsite optimization and quality do follow links from related sites...
