Saw a service on a different forum offering these links. Are backlinks from sites like this worth $300-$500 each?

I think 'Yes'. If the backlinks are permanent.

I've heard of people paying that kind of money for that kind of links monthly.

Yes CampusBlvd charges that much for .Edu links on PR7-8 sites per month. Same for newspaper homepage links.

If it's permanent then yes, one really good backlink is better than 100,000 not so good links.

If the links are permanent, on home page, 1 to 3 OBL.

Anything more than that, it's risky when there is update or ranking result.

Most of those kind of offers just give links in some remote pages. So,they dont do much to rankings but they add trust juice to site. It helps in long run.

Yeah it's worth it if its homepage and sticks for at least 6-12 months. I wouldn't risk buying backlinks anymore, though. People need to get used to making their own.

Theres power backing up to it, if not then thats a bait for noob. Or maybe targeting corporate business, it depends on their target market, you just have to know if you fit in or not.

As the chorus has gone so far; yes, if it's homepage and the PR sticks :) And the OBL is not smashed.

    OK.

Mushy replies over, lets actually make an assessment on this.

If it is real - is it worth it?

I'd say, if it was a permanent link for $300, that would be a bargain.*

If it was $300 per month, that would be more reasonable.

Why do I say that? Not just 'because' I think that. I don't buy domains of anywhere near this quality, but I have watched a few auctions for domains with a DA of 70+. Their price went to $4k+ before I stopped watching. I have no idea what they ended at. Considering the ridiculous stats on this... wow. Try $300 for one month, see how it effects your SERPs. You should see movement within 10-15 days. If you don't, then you know to cancel. What did you lose? $300.

*But it all depends on the website

What has the person done to this domain? Is it even indexed in Google? Is it a shitty spam site? Does it have lots of disgusting, terrible incoming links? What is the OBL? It doesn't matter with these great stats if there are hundreds of OBL on it. And if your link will be placed on some random inner subpage with no PA it is not worth $300 at all.

Something else to consider. They are selling these on a forum. The moment you buy paid links that are publicly advertised, you immediately run into serious risk of getting caught. If the network tanks, then YOUR site tanks with it. Even if it was somehow a magical bargain, I'd think twice just because if I'm willing to spend $300 on my site, I probably like it - a lot.

But most importantly, I am 99.9995% convinced this is a terrible idea

My god, msn.com has a DA of 98. The only domain I can think of off the top of my head with a DA of 100 is Wikipedia. What the fuck are they selling? What the hell were these domains previously? I am absolutely convinced that these are fake stats, and even if they come up in moz, these will have been manipulated.

No one buys domains like these just to sell shitty links on a forum.

    Assessment?

STAY AWAY AND DO NOT BUY.

    I think

STAY AWAY AND DO NOT BUY.

IS NOT THE THING TO DO.

A link can be well worth $300 or way more, but it depends on what YOU want!

If YOU don't give a damn about rankings, but you do know the link placement will give you a shitload of sales because the seller's site is related to your nice, go ahead and buy it.

If YOU do give a damn about rankings, YOU will need to find out if the seller's site(s) are clean and won't tank your site in the upcoming month or whatever period you're planning on.

If everything else fails, yes - as stated before - you just lost $300. Life goes on :p

It really depends on if the backlink will drive any sort of traffic, and if it is permanent (and on the homepage). It would be even better if it was niche relevant. One absolutely stunning link can beat the hell out of 10k+ crap links.
