Long story short... A 60 year old man had to sell his business, had nothing to do, a lot of time on his hands and to much cash in hand. That was me.
I decided to work on line and soon found this site. I was trying everything on here I could read about and knowing nothing about internet marketing I spent 3 years trying to make a buck. I wrote eBooks, built websites, landing pages, paid people for every software program and gimmick I could find. Fiveer..... OMG I spent thousands, that's right thousands. I had them making me banners, videos, music, software, pages and pages, articles and on and on. Lets just say I spent $ $$,$$$.$$ and I did.
Last week I was here on this site and somewhere I read a post that said stick to one thing, forget the rest, stay focused, start slow and rinse and repeat. I did.
I reread a post or two on banner advertising and for some unknown reason said ok that was it. I did exactly what the article said, spent $20 dollars and three days later I have made $400.00. Now in the grand scheme of things $400 is nothing compared to the dollars I have spent and the countless hours I have worked on learning and experimenting.
I was a high school graduate (no collage) many a year ago. Now I can write code, I have completed many ADOBE certifications, have several webpages that have traffic (lol no money but traffic) and have an intense working knowledge of marketing, that with 30 years as a brick and mortar owner I never knew.
The long and short of it all....
THANKS
It took a while, all because of my diversions and "owner knows best" attitude of building a business. While sitting here writing this I have made another $25.00 bidding 0.001 on porn banner ads, lol what a life. This is not about what program I used, what site I found, what exchange I'm using, it's all about what has been given here at this site. Within its pages with the stories, the sale pitches, the how to articles and more there is a true basic life changing possibility. Thanks to all of you who help, to all of you who share and expand our knowledge and skill no matter how long we take or desperate we get.
Thanks
Tim
