Lori Drew, 49, of O'Fallon, Mo., was convicted Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles on misdemeanor charges of accessing computers without authorization in a landmark cyberbullying trial, though her lawyer said he still hopes a judge will dismiss the charges against her...

Steward said the jury had only determined that Drew had violated her terms of service with MySpace, not that cyberbullying had occurred. The terms prohibit the use of phony names and harassment of other MySpace members.

Isn't this the lady who bullied a girl til she killed herself?

Yes, it is.

I thought this was about spam or something at first... But now that you guys said something, I remember hearing about that case.

This bitch needs to do time. That was fucked up... Don't get me wrong, I'm mean as hell to people from time to time, but the crap she pulled was wwwaaaaayyyy out of line.

If you tactically prey on a young, insecure, sheltered girl, and get her to fall in love with you (whether or not you are who you say you are), JUST to completely mindfuck her in the end, then you KNOW something bad will happen.

Sadly, in this case, it did. That poor girl must have felt like SHIT... I used to be a real sensitive kid, and REAL emotional... I know how it is... I grew out of it and now I get my revenge every day, but she wasn't so lucky.

I hope the bitch does time.

This really is a sad story, the woman deserves everything she gets, you think a woman aged 49 would have more sense...

As far as I'm concerned she deserves a place in the "I got away with murder" hall of fame right there next to OJ.

She got what she deserved........it wasn't the TOS violation thing....it was her actions that lead to the death of a child.

Big difference.

Actually, she should have gotten more time.

The child will never come back from the dead.

Sad, indeed.

That's the fucking bitch that harassed that girl, impersonated someone and convinced a teenager to commit suicide, that's the only thing that they could prosecute her with to punish her. IMO anyone, especially an adult who targets someone, including that young girl who convinced another young girl who didn't have many friends, social engineering them and pretending to be an online friend, confidante and boyfriend and then months later telling her to kill herself, still impersonating her as that friend should be held liable for their actions, depressing and grieviously beating the girl up mentally as if it were some sick game that they got a kick out of. If some sociopath did that to my little sister or daughter I'd get even. Then again, I don't have a little sister or daughter.. I hope the bitch accidently hangs herself in there.

just curious but do you work at a post office?

It sure was. This happened over a year ago and her daughter and victim were actually friends.

What a bummer!!:(

1 year already... ?? that was quite some time...

i guess the PAIN memories will follow them for awhile more...sighzz:(

It's insane. Totaly insane. Thease rules ar starting to come up in the EU also now

They will tighten up their rules more if incidents like these happen and if caught.

Didnt hear about this, fucking sick, lock her up n throw away the key

Now since the TOS will be more strict we all got to use Socks proxies and VPN's in order to keep ourselves protected because spaming MySpace etc... is illegal...

lol oh believe me when the inmates find out wat she did then tried to mess around again. whooo! shell be wishin she hung herself the day she got there.
when it comes to crimes against kids, prisoners carry out street justice.

I remember that case. It was appalling. The woman faked interest and led the victim on using info she was getting from her daughter and her friends then when she had the poor kid completely fooled she sprung the ruse and they all had a good laugh. Not laughing now I bet and I'm fucking glad.

No actually, she cut the contact telling here the world is better off without her.
That woman should rot in a cell for many years, but the problem is that her case can influence everything.
Jailing someone because of a violation of the terms of service in an online service means everyone doing SEO and creating false accounts is at potential risk.

I think the risk is near to zero right now, but it still sucks.
