My 3.5 year old Bing ads account was closed last week with no explanation. I have been with them since 2010 when they were Yahoo ads, then Microsoft, and now Bing. I received no notification that my account was closed or that there was any problem with the account. I called Bing and they couldn't tell me why it was closed, and promised to call me back with an answer in 5 business days, which I am still waiting out. I did some research on others who have had their account closed by Bing and found this email that others received (which I didn't): For privacy and security reasons, we cannot provide details around your specific account closure, but the most common reasons that require us to close Bing Ads accounts include: The payment method on file was not authorized by the account owner. The account was accessed without authorization. The account is related to an account that was previously closed. The account was determined to be high-risk to other customers or advertisers, as stated in our Editorial Guidelines. As described in the Bing Ads Terms and Conditions, we do not need to state a specific reason for account closure. Please know that we have taken this matter seriously and thoroughly investigated the issue. This decision is final, and we consider the issue closed. I have spent a lot of money with Bing, and it's very frustrating to have them close my account with no explanation. I am on a post pay billing system and pay with paypal, never missed a payment. This is the perfect example of how NOT to run your business... close your the accounts of good, reliable customers and don't even tell them WHY. The worst part of this is that I have now lost all of my keywords, ads, and conversion data from the last 3+ years with no way to recover it. Now I have to start all over, writing a bunch of new ads and testing this and that. I am not expecting the Bing customer service rep to get back to me with any helpful news or information, if I receive a call back at all. When that happens, I am may try to publicize this matter as this company did: http://www.baxterboo.com/bingads/ They were successful in getting their account restored. I'd rather try this and at least have the chance of recovering all of my keywords, ads, and conversion data before trying option 2, attempting to open a new account. Let's say I do try to open a new account with Bing. Can someone walk me through the process of what information I need to change and what, if any, information can be kept the same? For example, do I need a new name, address, phone number, social security number, paypal account, bank account, credit card number, etc?? I do not want to open a new paypal account (had for like 12 years) if I don't have to. Can I just add another email address to the account and make it a business account, keeping the original personal email linked to the paypal account? I could just open a new bank account and use the debit card linked to the account for any payment/verification purposes... would this work? Or would Bing see the new account is under the same personal name I used from my previous account? I assume a new IP address is needed as well, but I have read that some people haven't had issues with opening another account from the same IP. I am NOT going to mess with proxies, so changing my IP would be a real pain in the ass... cancel my internet maybe and then open another account with my ISP the next day to get a new IP is the only real way I can think of. I have tried unplugging my router/modem overnight but that didn't work... I have heard IPs are reserved for about a week before being reassigned to someone else. I have read about lots of people trying to open new Bing accounts after being banned but with little success. If someone wouldn't mind explaining this process THOROUGHLY AND IN DETAIL I would very much appreciate it.
