I just took a little break from my work today and jumped on Facebook. My newsfeed was filled with a lot of NYE crap. People ?hoping 2014 is a better year? and listing off their plans for the new year. Sounds great, right? Well 99% of them will stay stuck in their rut.

?Hoping? something changes doesn?t work. Same applies here. There have been a lot of posts?.what people want to make, what they want to buy, etc. All of that is just fluff unless there is a PLAN and FOLLOW THROUGH. There is no way around it.

Here are 3 simple things you need to do if you want to actually reach your goals and not sound like a broken record next year.

    1. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

You aren?t going to see new results if you won?t make new changes. A lot of the times you need to just go with your gut. What is the worst that can happen? You fail and then you start over.

Getting comfortable is the worst thing that can happen to someone. Ever hear someone say something along the lines of, ?Why doesn?t he retire ? he already has so much money? ? because they refuse to get comfortable. Once that happens you let your guard down and the competition catches up and then beats you down.

Don?t be afraid to take a leap that you feel has potential. You might be letting fear prevent you from achieving greatness. If you fall and crash hard just get up, and do it again.

    2. WORK (wow, simple huh?)

"It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." - Babe Ruth

Somewhere, there is somebody willing to work harder than you, and do whatever it takes to win. The people that understand this will make it. You can hope, pray, think positive, etc all you want, but nothing will out perform work and hustle. Nothing.

So many people say they want the reward but when it comes time to chose between working into the night or going out with friends to the bar they choose the later. These are the same people that see someone drive by in a Lamborghini with a smoking hot chick and begin to talk shit, assuming he was ?born with money? or some other pussy line. They simply make excuses because they KNOW they don?t have what it takes. Sure, that guy is living the life, but while that jealous person was sleeping at 3am that guy was putting in the work.

Don?t be the person that makes excuses as to why they are at a disadvantage or why they think someone else has a better chance at ?making it? ? that is all bullshit. It comes down to who is willing to WORK the hardest. Simple as that. Nothing can outperform a solid work ethic.

The old saying, ?Actions speak louder than words? is fitting here. Don?t say you are going to do something?.just do it.

    3. BALANCE

You need a balance in life. Now, after I just finished telling you how you need to outwork everyone I am going to tell you that you need to take some time off. WHAT?!

Working 24/7 will burn you out and it will do more harm than good. You need to recharge. My suggestion ? take one day off each week and do not do anything work related. Disable your work email on your phone and spend time with your family or doing a hobby. This recharge period is the most beneficial. I would also suggest that you do some physical activity daily. We sit in front of the computer a lot. It isn?t healthy at all. Hit the gym every morning before work or after ? not only is it healthy, but it will also help you WORK better. When you eat right and work out daily you have more energy. It will only help you push through.

Something I started towards the end of the year was taking every Sunday off. Regardless of what was going on I took the day off. I disabled the email on my phone and distanced myself. When I first tried this I found myself checking emails on my phone and then jumping online or making phone calls. It was counterproductive. Give yourself a day away from work each week. You will come out swinging after your recharge.

    - Good luck and I hope everyone kicks ass in 2014

    Happy new year everybody!

Those tips actually sound really simple, but often we are over-thinking about simple stuff. Thanks for the motivation! I wish more people will actually read this in deep, and think about it.

Just want to add point #4.

Reward Yourself for the Hard Work: Always reward for the hard work that you have done. Make sure you buy something for your self or your loved one's after all the hard money is meant to be spent also! I always try to buy something for me or my family by the end of month, this month I brought a new mobile phone for my mom and that's pushes me to work harder.

It is pretty simple but the part that gets overlooked the most is balance. I tend to just work work and work forgetting about the balance bit because I want this so bad and I am going to make sure I get it.

I also find that keeping a diary or organizing my thoughts into paper or a whiteboard helps me a lot.

If you set daily goals beforehand, it will increase your chances of actually doing them compared to just "telling yourself" to do it today.

You've got all three right. It's especially important, in imho to keep a constant finger on the comfort zone pulse, once you achieve decent success.

I know each year, I find myself more hesitant to move out of the Comfort zone, because hey I make a decent living, and what if the new plan fails miserably.

My insight of this year is to be grateful that I have the decent steady-eddy living backing me up so I should be willing to take more risks, not less, than when I was just trying to keep the lights on.

Happy Year of the Horse, everyone. Prosperity and a good ride.

Hard work got me somewhere to 10k+ per month and keeps on going, doing things as I wish without a boss. I have to agree that one day off is great, but sometimes it's really hard to really relax.
Always test your ideas and inspire from others as well.
