One of my websites has been sitting at the #1 spot for about 6 months for a keyword gettin 1,300 searches a month.

Last week the main keyword Im targeting got to the #3 spot with 3,000 searched a month. According to AWStats Ive been averaging 50 a visits a day before the second keyword was ranking and even after it started ranking.

Anyone know why my traffic hasnt increased with the second KW ranking?

Use Google Insights to check recent traffic trends. Adwords tool shows numbers but Insights shows if it has been searched recently.

OP: are you checking it from the same browser you always do?

Try running through a proxy, and use "incognito" or some similar mode so that you don't have your cookies and everything else present. Then run your search again and see where you are in the SERPs.
