A little background on me, my career is insurance I help everyone's grandparents not pay an arm and a leg for their health insurance. I can save a retiree $20-$150 a month on their insurance and we aren't even talking about their drug plan. Anyways I just hired an assistant to help out with the calls, and so I will be just handling enrollments (kinda nice). So this frees up some time to pursue my journey in IM. I will be honest I only came to BHW to help find some keywords for my blog and see about remarketing to them over time. I didn't think it was posssible to do IM as a side job or career until I came across the Ebay thread and Shez FBA Book to Amazon thread (good read) a few days ago.

Here is how I want to structure my side business. I want to divide my business into 3 time framed income streams; Immediate, Moderate, and Long Term.

At first I will get my drop shipper accounts lined up and going. I will have 8 store accounts within 6-8 months, I want to start one right after another.
I heard the conversion is 1% of your shop, 8 accounts at 500 items is 40 items a day with a $2-$4 PM (profit limit). That should net $80-$160 a day. After awhile I will have my VA take over this process.

My moderate idea is to in the meantime set up an online store which I would like to be in a wordpress format so that I can use the FB Like Jacker to put these ads out and gather likes to readvertise to. If I can get them back to the Wordpress site I will use the redirect plugin to lengthen my bounce rate. I was thinking I could either drop ship from Aliexpress, or buy some $1 items myself, pump up the rating of my ebay store accounts and then just ship them myself when I get an FB sale, or just regularly drop shipping from Aliexpress, or BOTH! I can certainly write off the purchases against income at the end of the year!

My long term idea is to rank my amazon store for keywords over time and to niche out.

    My timeline is the following:
    Immediate Ebay
I will complete 1 store per 3-4 weeks on ebay and link to paypal account. I actually have two (i linked an old account with low limits, but since I have two off the bat, I can atleast start to build this one, hopefully get it to 500 items by the time all the others get set up).

    Moderate FB
I will have my page (or should I have multiple pages per ebay account; anyone have any advice?) up and running within a month to start drop shipping from Aliexpress. I have very large flea markets around me, maybe I will take some profit, buy these cheaper items myself and go give em away for a free insurance quote or something down the road.

    Long-Term AMZ
Using my copy of LPT Platinum and SB (do I need anymore tools) I will look for keywords with Amazon suggestion or some other keywords I could monetize my Amazon store account. This is actually the least interesting to me, but for some reason there's a part of me that wants to include this. I feel it's important to diversify your income streams, I have seen too many ideas here become obsolete over time, or people getting banned by ebay to not have a back up idea floating in the background.

So there you have it, this is my journey thread. Hopefully I will get some good advice from you all. I will primarily be focusing at first on the 1st goal at first. After I get my store up and running, I will have time to focus on goal 2. Once I have some predictability with goal 2 down I will move on to goal 3.

I see Goal 1 being completed by next summer. Goal 2 I should start by New Year's and hopefully have my ads tested and targeted by Spring. Maybe I can start goal 3 between Spring and Summer, but again this part of the strategy maybe cast off as time goes by.

    WML

Just a check in, almost done tweaking all the settings. Listings will be up tonite. I am thinking that I should maybe get the amazon keywords going sooner than later if I expect to rank for them, instead of starting it waaaay later.

Anyone point out any keyword harvesting for Amazon threads? I think I may need to use Thwaites KW tool, it's the only one I know that has Amazon search stats, anyone else know of any KW tools that do that also?

Ok update time. I began my ebay account 4 days ago AFTER finding out my aged account had vastly low limits compared to a new account (weird). So I opened a new one, created some instant feedback. I haven't gotten any sales yet, and I had upto 400 items in my cart before it was put on hold for being suspicious (didn't think listing 400 items would be suspicious, less than half of my total limit).
So now I called them up this morning, and now I am stuck waiting here for my store to turn back to normal (which it hasn't yet). I don't want to relist any more items yet because I have a store subscription package with 500 free listings a month. I called in to complain that they didn't restore those credits, so now my store is in limbo for today.

I won't lie, the software has been a little buggy figuring out, and the method looks challenging to non-US based drop-shippers. I heard one guy say his overhead was 20% of the price, no way you can start out with that type of overhead.

As far as amazon keywords, haven't gotten any yet, and the hatchett method can't take off yet until the store does better.

So now I am here waiting for:
    A. Software to make things easier to be made available
    B. Store to turn back to normal
    C. Sales

I will report back soon hopefully with some positive news...

So here is my video review of the course. I only had 45 items in my store, and today I made my first sale. The annualized return on my investment of the sale was 1020% (Profit divided by purchase price multiplied by 120 days [it takes 3 days to get your money back out, so annualized is 120 reinvestment days]).
Time to scale up and out!

Not only last night did I make another sale 3 in one day, but I woke up and saw that I had another sale, that's a nice feeling!

Alright let's have an update. Woke up this morning with TWO orders needing to be fulfilled, which was great! I have been averaging 1% a day like the Euphorix drop shipping course claims. Friday I almost got 2%. My PM is still 10% AFTER all the fees (which is nice for now).
I have been consulting a TON of botmakers, scrapers, and software creators to create a better version of PY. I have found a piece of software, and it does everything I want it to, only the price is $700-$900. I will get the guy to come down on the price (because I am a good negotiator), and soon I will my own system that I can set up on a vps, no more fees!

Things are going great, starting to look more into part 2 phase, shopify+FB.....designing it soon!

So I have been averaging 1% except yesterday was slow, and today nothing so far. I just got my first bill from my pricing updater, $67 (ouch). I have talked to a developer that can give me what PY does, except no auto-ordering which I am fine with I have the time to put the orders in myself.
So funny story, last night went out to the mailbox, found a package with AMAZON PRIME covered in tape all around it (nice ebay customer is gonna know I got it from Amazon). So I opened it, yep, I shipped myself an item accidentally!
It costs me $7 to ship it out, the price of the item itself, I guess in retrospect I shoulda just bought another one and shipped it prime.
BUT atleast I learned this lesson cheaply. It coulda been a MORE EXPENSIVE OR HEAVIER ITEM...that woulda been worse. I will take my $7 lesson and keep going.

I updated my pm to 15%, I am thinking about just doing $4 flat instead. Well it's the 2nd of the month, I am going to list 600 more items, hopefully by this weekend or next week I can average 10-15 orders a day which with a $4 profit margin that is $40-$60 a day.
Here are my overheads at the moment:
Ebay store is $60 a month
Price checking software is $67 so far so I anticipate it doubling to $125
so right now rounded is $200 a month for this operation. $200 divided by 30 days is roughly $7. So I need to average 2 sales a day to keep this going. Leaving me with 8-13 orders to myself or $32-$52 a day or $960-$1560 a month or $11,520-$18,720 for the year.
This assumes my profit margin stays at $4, and my item limitation doesn't increase.

I don't want to keep putting in orders myself, and hiring a VA for this won't be worth it until I am doing atleast 20-25 items a day, but at that point, I might as well have PY auto order it for me for a $1.

I just found a great scraping software, WebHarvy. It will help me find what I am looking for, so now I will look at videos and scrape Amazon for top selling prime items and also ebay for sellers of items in appropriate categories.
I will be able to sort amazon for a complete product inventory list (not as important) and sort for ebay sellers with 200-2,000 feedback (more important).

Whats the difference between a normal ebay account and a store. Just higher # of listings allowed faster? Its 60$ per month for how many listings?

Thanks for the reply. Do you think you will be upgrading to the anchor store (2500 listings) eventually?

Well right now my limits are still 1,000 items. I have to wait 3 months before getting a higher upgrade. So at the moment, I couldn't do more listings if I wanted to, so getting the better store aka more listings wont be beneficial. My next increase will be probably to 2k or 2,500 items. Which would take 4-5 months to fill if I just used the free listing credits. I kinda like that approach, you don't want to happen to list 1k-2k extra items during a seasonal/holiday time and then have that stuff laying around in the store afterwards (still seeing Halloween gear on drop shipper pages). So going slowly, 500 a month is more natural, and will distribute the types of items you carry. Now when I get to 5k items, that's when I will upgrade and list 1k items a month and cut the would be time from 10 months to 5 months (sweet spot).
