1. Currently I use keywordchef, I also use ubersuggest, I look at competitors best pages and try to create a better resource
2. google the keyword then look at the "people also ask" to get topic ideas for the article. I also click on 2-5 ranking articles and look at what h2 + h3 titles they have to give me more topic ideas
3. I usually ask for 200 words per topic / h2 so for
how to walk a puppy for the first time = 200 words
Tips for walking a puppy = +200 words
When should you start walking your puppy? = +200 words
How far can a 12 week old puppy walk? = +200 words
so around 800 words. I also check the top 10 articles, if they have more words than my article I might try to match them
I haven't been tracking how much I have spent. I believe I have spent around
6k on articles
3k on links
around 40 guest posts

1. Where do you get deals for guest posts? Do you buy here on bhw or outreach manually?

3. During 1.5 years you have been working on this site, have you been consistently publishing articles throughout this period, or there were periods (weeks/months) you did not publish at all. If you had such periods, did you see any effect on the site's growth caused by them? I want to know if long breaks without publishing anything can really have a negative effect.
4. What is the ratio of money/informative articles on your site.

I see you said this journey is over. I realize you met your goal. Will you continue to update this thread with how your income and traffic continue from here, though? I'd be curious to see how it continues to grow as more of your content has time to age and such.

I MADE MY TARGET !!!
of 1000 usd a month. Last month I made 1033 usd which means I have reached my target for this journey. At just over 1.5 years it took a lot longer then I thought it would to reach my target. I am super happy to have reached my target. I have now taken my foot off the gas for this site, I am now scheduling one post a week to make the site look active.
Lessons I learned from this journey
Whats Next?
- I used an expired domain that had a lot of spam which I think slowed this journey down
- Post high quality articles all the time. The first 100 or so articles i posted were written by non native writers for 10 usd per 1000 words.
- During this journey my search analysis skills improved a lot, I found that at the beginning I was going after keywords that were to high competition for my site. In the future I will go for under served topics first
- Spent to much money on link building, I probably spent around 3k-4k on guest posts, I would prefer to of spent on content
- Focus on one site / project at a time, I have a few sites and at times I was working on 2 or 3 sites at the same time. This causes you to lose focus.
- Don't give up, so many times I wanted to move on to another project.
I currently own a few websites and I will start a new journey soon around them. I am still deciding which journey / project to work on from the following
Out of all the journeys listed above I am thinking of going with 2 or 4 as they are likely to be achieved in quicker time. But I really want to do journey 3
- Grow this site to 2500 usd a month (Not really interested in this)
- I recently purchased a site on flippa that is making 300 usd a month, Grow this site to 1000 a month
- Start a new site like the one in this journey and grow it to 1000 usd a month in less than 1.5 years (The time it took this site)
- Grow one of my 1+ year old sites from 5usd a month to 1000 usd a month
I am still thinking, let me know ur thoughts.

Few people would have the patience and nerves for such incredible journey. Stacking all these losses at the first month knowing this is just temporary, the "equation" would finally flip things up. It looks like not even for once did you question yourself, if you are doing the right thing, if that entire project might fail...

Yesterday was my best day for Organic visitors with 75
I have just ordered 20 more articles to be written. I am almost out of keywords so will spend some time today to find new keywords. I will use the below process.
I am targeting Long tail keyword Questions (For example, "How Do I Configure The Contrast Setting on a Cannon 345 Camera") Typically these keywords have 50-500 searches per month
I want to target long tail keywords at first as this is the easiest way to get traffic to my new site. When my site has more authority I will start to target keywords with higher search volumes.
How did I find these keywords? I search google and get a list of websites in my niche. I then use neil patel ubersuggest tool to export what keywords the site is ranking for. I then go through the list manually removing keywords I dont wont.
I then take these keywords and run them through Traffic Travis (There are other tools available) I extract the low competition keywords.
I then head over to google and enter the keyword, google will then autosuggest some searches. I will choose one of the autosuggest to write an article about.
I am curious to know among all these articles, how many of them are informative ones and affiliate buyer guides respectively? thanks

I will update this journey for the last time at the end of this month.
I was very driven to reaching my goal. This project is long term so spending alot of money in the short term is not an issue. The site made $1 last month and should make around $800 this month
AI software? I never said I used AI?
They are all info. My ideal articles are info that you can naturally drop aff links in to.
UPDATE
I have decided I will continue with this project to scale this site to $2,500 a month. I will start a new thread with that journey in november. Until then there are a few things I am doing to prepare
Change The Sites Theme
I have been playing around with the wordpress theme Astra and today I have implemented this theme on my site and my pages are loading quicker. I also change the links to amazon products from blue to red which makes the links stand out, I am hoping this will give me more clicks.
Changed Ezoic Ad Placeholders
I have done a lot of research on the best placements for ezoic placeholders, so today I implemented this. I am hoping my epvm will go up which will help the earnings.
Keyword Research

why do you order articles with just 600 words. short articles can't rank easily or they won't at all.
Do you fact check the articles when you have received them from the writers?
They sometimes won't care and made your articles look like amateur..

It depends on the competition of the keyword.
I have a few 500-600 words articles that rank 1-3, it's not impossible.

at the beginning of this journey I was producing very low quality articles which typically targeted 1 keyword. I now write articles targeting topics (Lots of keywords) and the length is usually 1000 - 1500 words.
I did not even check the articles after they were posted, another big mistake. I went through all articles on this site and the low quality ones were either removed or rewritten

not many, about 20 guest posts. But looking back I would of spent the money on content not back links.

I will post an update on the site in a few weeks time.
Yes I think I could of reached my goal quicker for this journey, but
I started another site 1 year ago and it has 150 posts and its getting 5 visitors a day from google. I think google has changed by placing you in the sandbox for longer now. I have seen other people have the same results.
