I found the above link useful. Maybe you will too . Although you arent going to be getting massive amounts of TARGETTED followers, you will get a tonne of followers to pad up your numbers as such.

I followed about half the first day, half the next, almost all followed me back. So generally speaking, with a new twitter account, you can get 200+ followers almost instantly and perfectly under the radar

Plus when they follow you back you'll show up under their "following" page, resulting in other people adding you as well. This is definitely a good way to gain a few hundred followers for 15 minutes of clicking.
