Hello BHW members, I paid $21.00 dollars to the website 21habit.com so you know $h1t just got real. Such website will take my money if you I don't do my habit everyday for 21 days, nice motivation to start.

After I failed doing my journal in the past I learned a few things about my experience. You can take a look here: 30-Day Trial: Wake up At 4:30 A.M.

  1. You need to have a reason to wake up.
  2. I can't enjoy eating so early but water is alright.
  3. Your first thought would be "I feel so tired, my body can't do this today let's have some rest".
  4. 4:30 A.M. kills me, 5:00 A.M. do not.
  5. Stretching routine helps you a lot.
  6. Podcast distracts me, even music. Instrumental music is alright.
  7. Work for a personal project or something you can earn money instantly. I used to write for some blogs earning $8 USD for 1 hour of work. I was earning $40 USD each week just for waking up early everyday, nice feeling.
  8. Do not read forums, 9gag, Facebook, cat videos and more stuff like that. "Oh my god, 6:30 already?".
  9. Dress/shower early. Increase your self-esteem, your Pokemon pijamas are not that serious when doing IM.
  10. Be thankful for the opportunity.

Why I'm doing this?
I'm getting lazy since I have 8 hours of work almost everyday at the office. I am a freelance internet marketer (I'm not an employee) working with 2 clients which combined give me 40 hours of work per week. I don't feel good by waking up at 6:30 A.M. it makes me think "Are you that lazy men? What's wrong with you? You have better things to do bro c'mon!" Even if I do nothing productive in the morning I feel better trough the day.

Schedule:
I spend 30 minutes to get ready for work, I start doing so at 6:50 A.M. so by 7:25 A.M. I start the car engine. This routine was dominated almost instantly. This is what I do:
- Shower 7 minutes: No shampoo, no soap, just stretching and listening a funny podcast to boost my mood.
- Dress 10 minutes: Dressing up, putting gel on my hair, facial lotion, brush teeth, contact lenses, cleaning shoes and extra time to do my bed.
- 10 minutes: Taking my computer, make lunch for work, getting phone, wallet and miscellaneous stuff.

I will:
Wake up 5:00 A.M. jump from bed, think positive and do 20 minutes stretching routine (no workout) for 21 days.
Work for my IM projects for 1.30 hours.

Starting tomorrow 2/16/2015

Thank you all

Good luck on this.

How much money does that site take if you don't do your habits?

Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.

Being self employed, I fell into the late night trap, working all night, staying up until 7 am and waking up at 3pm. It sucked, I now wake up at 8am to start my work, I get so much more done.

That's an amazing idea. That definitely could help you achieve more and be a lot more productive. Good luck!

i wasn't aware that this kind of site exist at all, pretty good idea of the site owner, however shouldn't you have to pay a couple grand at least, just to make sure to wake up early :p

Good luck on this.

How much money does that site take if you don't do your habits?

It takes $1.00 dollar for each day you don't check in or fail to do your commitment (the money goes to a charity of your choice). Obviously you can cheat and say you did it so you can keep your money but you are just fooling yourself. The website also gets $0.93 as "transaction fee" a.k.a service fee, so the total is $21.93.

I committed my self to wake up each day at 4 AM after like 5 hours of sleep.

The only way you are going to do something like this is if you have a HUGE why, mine is. 21 $ imo are not but maybe it works for you.

I get up at 4 AM EVERY DAY, I go working out in my garage for at least 1 hour, sometimes 90 minutes. Then I dress and eat for success. Then it's still early and most people are still sleeping so I read something I can learn from or can give me some ideas. Then work.

It's an Amazing feeling.

Day-1: Success.

5:20 A.M. right now, woke up at 5:00 A.M. I started feeling like a human been after 9 minutes of stretching while in bed (dangerous). Better brain stage than waking up at 4:30 A.M. I think because the sleep cycle, you can read about that here sleepyti.me

good for you OP

Not sure if people know or not, but the 21 days no. is not just a random number, I read somewhere that if we do something for 21 days stratight without missing a day then it becomes a habit of ours.

Can you setup the site that you have to check up before 5 am or so ? Would make you either wake up on time or being up all night.

Day-2: Success, not doing that much in the morning but getting used to the routine.

yes that's true. that's the whole meaning behind this thing.

I too read somewhere that if one will continue the same work upto 21 days then it will be a habit :) nice website I must say,but one thing I still not getting that why putting $21 on it :/ and what you will get on 21st day?

Nice thread.
The 21 days habit thing is 100% true.
Your plan sounds good and I too and stuck in a routine go to work for 8 hours everyday schedule.
To bad I'm too lazy to give this a shot :p

Day-3: Success. I woke up naturally at 4:52 A.M. I'm taking like 15 minutes to realize I have to get up from bed but it will get better with the time.

Can you setup the site that you have to check up before 5 am or so ? Would make you either wake up on time or being up all night.

No, you can't unfortunately.

I will get my $21 dollars back and I can start a new habit.
