- 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
- Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz
- Intel HD Graphics 6000
- 8GB memory
- 128GB PCIe-based flash storage1
Also the HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop-13t touch with a price tag of 1049USD and the following configurations
- Full-size island-style backlit keyboard
- No DVD or CD Drive
- Windows 10 Home 64
- Onboard 8 GB Memory
- Intel® Core™ i5-7200U (2.5 GHz, up to 3.1 GHz, 3 MB cache, 2 cores) + Intel® HD Graphics 620 (For 8GB memory)
- 13.3" diagonal FHD UWVA BrightView WLED-backlit touch screen (1920 x 1080)
- 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
Please i would like to know your thoughts before i take my decision, i would be glad too if any of us here has a first hand experience with any of this notebooks too. Am leaning towards the Hp Spectre but i would like to get your opinions too.
Thanks so much guys for your input.
N/B: Other models within the same price range are welcomed too.
Hey! I just logged in from my new Spectre x360, because I was browsing the forum in the tablet mode...
Ok, just stop here. I'll give you my experience. I just bought the hp spectre x360 13-4190nd.
Product name
HP Spectre x360 - 13-4190nd (ENERGY STAR)
Microprocessor
Intel® Core™ i7-6500U with Intel® HD Graphics 520 (2.5 GHz, up to 3.1 GHz, 4 MB cache, 2 cores)
Memory, standard
8 GB DDR3L SDRAM (onboard)
Video Graphics
Intel® HD Graphics 520
Hard Drive
512 GB M.2 SSD
Display
33.8 cm (13.3") diagonal QHD IPS LED-backlit touch screen (2560 x 1440)
So this is the top end model, but I think the daily use of this masterpiece is good to compare even to the cheapest version with 128gb ssd.
I got this laptop for only 850 euros and it's 4 months old. I had to drive 500 km's to pick the device up.. but even the gas was totally worth it. The device costs new over 1.500 euros..
Why I took this device:
I need it for my internship: long battery time, easy to carry, not to heavy, keyboard lightening, bright screen, fast WiFi, lots of storage preferably SSD, SD SLOT, and a few other benefits.
Why I took not the Dell XPS or a Mac book:
I consider only the Dell XPS and a Mac Book as a honest comparable device. This has to do with the premium finish of the device and premium quality materials that are used. I went to a local store (something like Wallmart) and tested all these three devices. I have an iPhone but somehow i'm not a fan of the controls on a Macbook. Maybe this takes time but it just doesn't seem to work for me. And another problem with Apple: you pay a lot for the inside hardware compared to the dell and HP laptop. Now I took the HP over the XPS because of the design and feel with the device. This is totally personal. Some people complain about the weight of the HP but i find it comfortable to hold something in my hands.
Great things of the HP spectre:
I have the device now 1-2 days and it's awesome. The feel, the looks. I went to a meeting for my internship. It was in one of our biggest cities the most beautiful room you can imagine. 43th floor and panorama view over the city. There were lot's of managers, the ceo, cto, cfo.. and so on. We we're in a team of 25 people and almost half of the people asked me what laptop I was using. The design is just wonderfull. Some people who we're using a Macbook even complimented me. The looks and the feel is so premium. It looks like it belongs in a mansion.. or the meeting room where I was today. My boss said he was going to order one too this evening..
In meetings it's so damn nice, you can type notes and circle with the touchscreen the most important things. I use the touchscreen more than I thought of before. It's faster to click on the screen instead of using the mousepad.
The quad HD is stunning but on a 13 inch screen you hardly can tell if it is full hd or quad hd.
The tablet mode works great, Im reading the forum now in tablet mode in my bed. Very comfortable.
I used the laptop in the meeting today for about 4 hours and this evening about 1 hour on energy saving and still have a stunning 63%. Really impressed. Not tested yet the battery time when using photoshop or something.
Lots of fast keys. Instead of using FN key to adjust volume, you need to use FN key to get the F3.. F4.. F5 etc. button. Really well invented because i hardly use F3 etc. buttons but a lot more the volume, screen brightness, mute button.
The buttons on the side of the laptop are well placed, windows home, volume button. In tablet mode this is very handy but even in laptop mode I use it sometimes.
Touchscreen works like a charm no lagg at all and I never experienced a miss click
The letters HEWLETT - PACKARD wroten on the laptop everywhere instead of HP is a great premium look
Fan is at the SIDE of the device, not at the bottom. No overheating issues ever.
Now there are some cons:
- the mousepad is big. I had some misclicks and I have no idea why it's so big. It works, no lagg or whatever, but i'm not just comfortable with it (yet). Maybe it takes time
- 13 inch is quite small screen, next time i'll go again for 15 inch
- it is an expensive device
- bang and olufson speakers or whatever they did is not so great. From headphones it is.

I would advice this device to anyone I come across...... maybe HP should pay me!!
Wonderfull device. Just buy it and forget the XPS and Macbook. Everyone has a Macbook and if you want to stand out, in meetings, or wherever, HP is the way to go. XPS is a nice device, but can't take this build quality.
IF you have questions feel free to ask. Sorry for mistakes not native english and did not reread this whole story
