I don't know what this Veryon thing is other than someone bought the Bugatti name and is tragically using it!

THIS is a Bugatti; the Coupe de Ville.

Wheelbase; 14 ft, 3 in.(4300 mm)

Engine: SOHC straight eight, 784 CID (That's 12.7 litres!), 300 hp.

Transmission; 2-speed transaxle; overdrive with reverse.

Top speed (observed): something over 100 mph (No one since Jean Bugatti has ever top-ended a Royale. Jean clocked the Esders Roadster at around 120 at Mulsanne)

Weight: 6500-8000 Lbs, depending on bodywork.

Cost; 1927: $25,000.00 USD, bare chassis, body extra.

It may interest you to know that all six of the Royales are considered to be not only exotic classic cars but works of art.

The last Royale sold changed hands at $11.7 million USD.

Using spare parts, as there were many engines, axles and transmissions built, a custom buuilt replica frame and other hand made components, a seventh car; a replica of the Esders Roadster (Although equipped with headlights, which the original Esders did not have because the owner did not drive at night!) has been constructed at a cost of around $3 million USD.

There are at least four more in progress.

I have an elderly freind who owns two Bugattis; a Type 40 4-dr sedan and.............a Type 35B. A Type 35B built in 1927 which shares performance characteristics with a 5 litre Shelby Mustang, so it ain't no slouch. He bought the cars back in the 50s for like $500 USD each, then a ton of money but a pittance now!

I have driven both of those cars as well as 1951 Type 101 Graber convertible coupe and a 1939 Type 57SC.

For the most part, Bugattis are small, noisy, smoky, uncomfortable but a blast that you would not believe!

If you can imagine, in the late sixties when I was in high school, I was offered a Type 35C which ran and drove for $2500 but could not raise the money as I had only $1500 in the bank and my Dad said that the car would be hard to get parts for, so he wouldn't loan me the money!

The car is worth around $1 million USD today.:(

im not getting my commission from ebay im getting it directly from the owner my plan basically is to sell the car higher than its worth that way i would be able to get a fat cut out the deal.

Interesting fact on the gas mileage:

1,000 horsepower is equivalent to roughly 2.6 billion joules per hour. A gallon (3.8 liters) of gasoline contains 132 million joules, so a 1,000-hp engine has to be able to burn just over 20 gallons of gasoline per hour.

However, car engines are only about one-quarter efficient -- three quarters of the gasoline's energy escapes as heat rather than as power to the wheels. So the engine actually has to be able to burn at least 80 gallons per hour, or 1.33 gallons (5 liters) per minute.

Well, you are confusing statics with dynamics here.

The engine is CAPABLE of producing 1000 bhp but actually rarely operates at that figure.. It will only pump out 1000 bhp under absolute "pedal to the metal" conditions and you are correct, under those conditions the car is going to suck fuel like a crack ho sucks...well, you know!

The rest of the time, the ECU is going to handle things and the car will normally roll along at probably around 200-400 bhp and therefore use comparatively little fuel.
 
I think you're not taking into account for it's quad turbos. They redistribute a lot of the exhaust heat back to the engine. Also, you should be certain that they have put in the R n D into reducing heat loss.

Also, Your figures have to be an average. The car will be exponentialy less efficient at it's top speed of 250 due to extreme wind drag and high rev speed.

When I was on a superbike team (keep in mind I was the rider, not the mechanics) we used alot of titanium through the entire exhaust, and carbon fiber where we could, but even in full leathers, my ass and legs always felt like they have been on a hibatchi.

I take it you mean he's going to give you 20% of his commission, not the car's worth, right?
 
there is no way hes getting 20% commission that is ridiculous, getting even 1 or 2 percent commission of a sale from a car like that is ALOT of money.
 
Yeah, a 20% commission on the total sale of a car is very unlikely. The dealership would lose money. But 20% of the salesman's commission still isn't a bad deal. Even if he gave him 20% of his 1% commission (of a 1 million dollar sale), that's still $2,000.
 
Yeah I thought so. 20% of the total value is like $640,000 and that would not be cost effective at all for the dealership lol
