I?ve had quite a few people PM me about offline marketing. I thought I would share something I?ve used that works for me in my area. (This isn't my money maker it's something I JV with) Each person will have to scale and modify the idea to their own offers.

It?s no secret that the economy is in trouble. The only ones who don?t seem to realize it is the politicians who can vote for pay raises for themselves. With that said, there?s a lot of people who are now unemployed or underemployed. Many people in the U.S. have given up looking for employment because there?s simply nothing out there to make it worth their while.

The news tonight mentioned that there was something like 50 Million unemployed in the U.S. or the equivalent of all of Missouri or Wisconsin being unemployed.

More and more people are looking to the Internet. These are the late-comers. Who remember hearing about people getting rich on the Internet. People starting businesses and being able to stay home. So, they decide to look into it. Problem is that up until recently they only used their computers to read their emails, do some searches for recipes, download porn, post on myspace and place online computer games.

They?re completely clueless when it comes to starting their own business much less doing anything on the Internet. Some have lost their jobs, others are trying to supplement their income, others find their retirement income inadequate are lost during the recent economic fiasco. None of them have any clue how to start a business.

For these poor unfortunates I started a membership website and charge the $10/mo so they can have access to video tutorials, software, ebooks and other stuff for them to build a business. Every two days I send them something new as a ?free gift? for belonging to my website. And about once a week I send them a review of a clickbank affiliate offer. If the offer is software or a business plan then I produce what I call a ?quick and dirty? video to take them inside and show them exactly what they?ll get and how to use whatever it is that I?m promoting. This always increases conversion rates.

These people are very eager to learn and are willing to buy. The trick is to only introduce them to quality products and not just crap. If you sell them crap then you lose credibility and you?re sales will drop dramatically. You have to think long term with these people. You can?t simply use, abuse and throw them away. These people are gold mines.

They?ve never heard of the IM guru?s. As far as they?re concerned YOU are the expert. They?ll buy what you have to offer as long as you take care of them.

The way I market my website is to print up a set number (500-1000) of full color business cards with my ad on it. Then place the business cards in inexpensive paper business card holders
Code:
http://www.displays2go.com/product.asp?ID=1940

(NOTE the above is NOT an affiliate id this is the product id)

in convenience stores, community colleges, flea markets, Laundromats, and other places where my niche may visit. Keep it right near the cash register where people will see it. Pick it up while waiting for the cashier to do her thing and will eventually look it up when they find it again in their pocket.

While I was promoting this website I was averaging about 20-30 new members a day. (I live in an area with a 50,000 population). I had a JV partner who was distributing the cards for me but haven't heard from her in about two or three months. (So hard to keep good help) Still with a membership site there's good residual from both the membership fee and affiliate offers. And since it's noobs it doesn't take much to keep them happy.

It?s important to give them something free to begin with. Offer them a seven, ten or fourteen day free trial and then using Paypal subscription start charging them $10/mo.

Now $10/mo may not sound like an awful lot to you and you?re right, it isn?t. But when you have 200 or more members that suddenly becomes $2000/mo, PLUS affiliate commissions, PLUS sales of websites, PLUS consulting or coaching, PLUS Mastermind Groups, PLUS, PLUS, PLUS, PLUS whatever your imagination can come up with.

Your cost for this type of business:
$10 for domain name
$?? for website
FREE all those plr and rr ebooks, scripts, software, audios, etc? on your hard drive
$5 hosting service
$60 for business card holder
$75 for business cards

Ok, I?ve given you the basics. Now it?s up to you to do pick up the tools and make it work for you. Let me know how it works out for you.

If this is helpful let your mouse do your THANKING =====>

i really love your idea the only thing i would be worried about is what if they are unhappy because they didn't make any money some people you can give them the best information in the world but if they don't do nothing then they want make no money and when they don't make no money they come to your house harassing you for a refund i guess that would be my only fear thanks for the information though

This is the third or fourth offline method I've seen posted here in so many days and they just keep getting better and better.

If there is still ANYONE here that can't make at least a few hundred dollars a month with any one of the hundreds or even thousands of online or offline methods freely posted here (in great detail) they should repackage their computers and return them to wherever they bought them, because they're too stupid to be on the innerwebs!

Bravo sir, on another fine post!

Great idea, I'm doing something very similar to this, though the business cards is an excellent twist on the marketing.

Do you generally need to give the cashier a few bucks to let you put your cards there, or do they generally not mind?

The way I do it is similar.

But I charge $42 monthly for a similar service. So $24,000 yearly would only be 48 members.

But you have to take into account the higher your price, the better information you have to push.

Clever tactics. I've thought of offline marketing things before but I really like this. Very creative idea to make some easy cash. Thanks again. :)

Yeah - ask for some phone credit or something then just place it somewhere they won't notice. After a few hours they'll see it and assume it's meant to be there. To be honest if you're worrying about minor problems like that then you really will run into lots of other problems.

What we need to focus on is a decent business card advertisement with a huge call to action, then a website that has a decent sales page that will attract people NEW to the world of making money online. It needs to be SIMPLE for them to sign up and SIMPLE for them to access the content.

The only problem I have with membership sites is keeping them members. I'm trying to retain them with weekly interviews, personal support and eventually a buzzing community (which I will populate to begin with).

Don't forget once you have this small income you can create an affiliate scheme ;)

This has worked very well for me over the past few months.

Here is another spin for you to think about...

If you go to your local unemployment office you can post a flier on their bulletin board. Talk with whoever is in charge and let them know about what you do and they are usually eager to allow you to do this.

I have also had some luck with working with temp agencies in my area. There are some people that just cant get a "normal" job for whatever reason and if you are distributing your information where people are actively seeking employment you can have some pretty good luck with sign ups.

One more that I have had great success with is the local classifieds in the help wanted section. These are pretty inexpensive if you buy in bulk say for 3 months or so.

I have found that if you run your business as a business, you have much better success. If you are serious about making money online you have to stop treating it like a hobby.

Hope this helps somebody....

I understand your business model and it's a good one.

The business model I use is make it a "no brainer". At $42 they may have to think about it. After all that's a tank of gas, phone bill, etc.. At $10 there's no thinking to it. It's affordable even for those on a fixed income.

Keep in mind that with the affiliate offers you'll earn even more. The $10/mo membership just gets them to raise their hand and say they're a good prospect. Once you have them in your sales funnel you can make even more money off of them.

Quality always counts. From the affiliate programs I choose to the "gifts" I give away it always has to be quality. No junk ebooks with crap in it or ebooks created to sell something else. Always good to high quality products. This is what gets them to refer others to your site.

BTW: There's always going to be someone who has a negative comment about anything. Don't let their comments rattle you. Any and every business has it's obstacles. The trick is to quit worrying about obstacles and what could go wrong and focus on TAKING ACTION!

Actually I don't use a membership script. The way I have my website set up is to guide my members through a sales funnel. Feeding them a little bit at a time. Giving them top quality free stuff to study.

Again, don't over think or overcomplicate this. Just TAKE ACTION!

grafxextreme, what company do you use to print your business cards? I've used Overnight Prints and they are really good but I'm always looking for cheaper :)

Also, another good place to post your business cards is the Panera cork boards...

I use VISTAprint. They've been good to me. I simply upload my business card to them and they print and deliver for me. I tend to stick with them primarily because I consult with small business owners and one of my primary lead generators is to send a postcard to prospective clients.

I upload my postcard to VistaPrint and they print and mail for me much cheaper than I can do it myself.

When I was training residential developers and realtors I also used them to run various promotional campaigns so I get a decent discount with them.

123Print.com has 5000 full color medium weight glossy for $113 plus s/h. Not a bad deal.

Remember, don't be shy with leaving those cards once you have them printed. They don't do you any good sitting on your desk.

I get what you mean. This doesn't have to be complicated at all...

Set em' up on a paypal subscription and you could just update a page with some video trainings, an ebook or 2 once per week and email them tips, newsletters, etc.

Sounds easy and worthwhile, I think I'll give this a shot.

Thanks

I've had quite a few PM requests for taking a look at my website. Unfortunately, I can no longer do this because I caved in and am licensing out the whole website to some of the BHW'ers who wanted to duplicate everything for their area.

Since they're paying me a good price it wouldn't be fair to them to share the details with others. I do appreciate the interest. But honestly, as I explained to those who wanted to purchase this for their own areas — just about everything is right here on this page.

You really don't need to look at my website to make this work for you. You have all the tools on your hard drive. Just create a landing page, hook it up to an auto responder, create a sales page and set up the videos. It may take some time to get it set up but it's nothing that you can't do. All you have to do is TAKE ACTION!

Again, don't over complicate or over think this...
