At least 245 people died on Sunday when a fire tore through a nightclub packed with university students in the southern Brazilian city of Santa Maria, police said.

Most died of smoke asphyxiation they could not get out of the doors...

Sad loss and regrettably will happen again someplace else...

that sucks, frommwhat i heard that happened because they had only one exit and bouncers thought that they were leaving without paying their tabs. Happened similar in nyc many years ago, of course with a lot less casualties, anyway after that the law here is that you cant open any bar or restaurant or club, without at least 2 exits...

I can't imagine how / what those people would have been going through during the fire. Sad.
