theres a site that has two articles about a product, they both targeting the same keyword, but google only lists one in search as i dont see the other one, but how does google add one and not the other do they check for best content and then just list that one.

what im saying is if i made an unique article about the product and add to the same site, how does google calculate this?? Thanks

If you target the same keywords as the other article you are in competition I think. I had this happen recently(4 articles on same domain were contending) and it gave me the feeling Google was A/B testing in the serps between the articles that were close and left one in the serps all the time that was clearly 'better'(in this case the content was clearly better but I think sufficient backlinking should have the same effect)

the maximum number of articles I saw in the top 10 of the one domain was 3. Although I read somewhere Google places only 2 articles of one domain on page 1, I did observe this once.

If it's very close in value in Google's eyes I think that's what happens untill one becomes more valuable because of factors like time on page and things, note this is my speculation from small sample size personal observation.
