As the title states, I have a $2000 monthly SEO budget. Here are some facts about the domain I am working on, as well as some of the services already running:

    1. Non EMD
    2. Main KW = 201,000 Global monthly searches / 90,500 Local monthly / High Competition
    3. We are currently in Position #16 on Google for this main KW
    4. New domain only 2 months old - No PR
    5. Good original written and video site content, optimized META titles and tags, no OBL's
    6. Trying to rank for internal page with breadcrumb like this example: mybrandeddomain.com/main-keyword
    7. Currently using the following providers from BHW:
    a. SEO Premium - High PR Contextual Blog Links
    b. SEO Background - Drip Fed blog comments
    c. Link Adage - PR4, PR5, and PR6 home page links on related site with 2 or less OBL's (expensive but lots of juice)
So I have seen great results so far and "a" & "b" are still ongoing and have not yet hit their full potential. My gut tells me that I need a good Web 2.0 campaign as well, but not sure what to choose.

We are very serious about ranking for this KW and this site is offering a totally legit service with all white hat content.

So, how do I spend the remaining $2000 per month safely without having to worry about Google sandboxing? Please do not make suggestions that are extremely risky as we prefer to only used well tested and known providers.

Content content content, have I mentioned content? Do the Web 2.0's, and with that budget buy some high PR domains to make your own blog network :)

    Make your own blog network.
And I would hire someone to approach sites in your niche about buying a link on one of their inner pages for like $30/year or something along those lines.

Since you have a decent budget, guest posts is the way to go.
Contact blog owners in your niche and pay them some amount for placing an article on their site with do follow links pointing to your sites.

Use footprints to find blogs, myblogguest.com may help too

    Totally whitehat :)

    Good luck.

I would start your own dominating blog network and have tons of unique content. Who would of ever though that unique content would be more valuable than backlinks :)

Thanks, yes we are pretty good on the content and will continue adding both written and video content to the site.

I forgot to mention one thing and that is I am wanting to do more right now to the site, but trying to hold myself back a bit in terms of spike in activity. Should I chill for a bit and let these current services play out, or is it safe to keep adding at this point?

    Thanks

So a recurring theme here is creating a blog network. I have though about it but I also know that to do it right would take some careful planning. We would have to host on different IP's, generate more content, etc. I just don't think that we have the time or focus to create our own network at this point. I'm also nervous about buying a blog network as I have heard horror stories about temporary links expiring, redirect (fake PR) etc...

Probably too much for us to handle at the moment...

If your serious about the keyword I'm guessing you can probably produce the content yourself.

With that budget my advice would be setup with a few of the high quality services offered here (hahem... Elite SEO maybe, PR Blitz, BigBuddys service(s)).

In addition, take a look at text-link-ads.com (damn should have had my aff link:)), they are expensive but the nearest to whitehat + effective link
    Building you can get IMHO.

With that kind of a monthly budget, the best thing to do is go for guest post in top blogs/websites. Use an agent to do it provide them with top notch articles.

Create good web properties which are linking to the parent site but not extensively.. work on them using BH tools.

Focus on social network marketing, retweets, shares and pins are the new word of mouth, and google respects it.

Finally the most important thing.. keep feeding the main site with quality articles.

With that kind of budget, what's the best way to get content? Obviously you're not going to write it yourself if you got the money to pay for it. Where are the best places to get good writers and good unique articles?

There are some pretty kick-ass SEO services on BHW. You may also do guest-blogging, really worth it. Text-link-ads is also great for PR homepage backlinks, check it out.

    Remember to DIVERSIFY!

It's incredibly important to not just go after fully optimized anchor text links, build in a natural profile as well. Including links with unoptimized anchor text links like: click here, find out more, domain name, url.com, etc.....

Also be careful with a budget like that, more often than not you can over-optimize with a bunch of incredibly kick ass links easily. Remember to blend in some natural, lower quality links as well.

Think like the big G and reduce your footprints in every way possible.

Great advice everyone, thanks. So here is what I am gathering from this thread as a possible game plan moving forward with our budget:

    1. Hire some good content writers to post articles on our site
    2. Hire writers to guest blog
    3. Diversify anchor text and target pages
    4. Create private blog network (or at least find a very private one to join)
    5. Web 2.0 campaign (link wheel, link pyramid, what is it that I want here..?) What would you call it?

Quick question because we are active on domain buying sites... What is a fair market value for an existing blog or website (assuming solid backlinks and decent existing content)?:
    1. PR3 - $?
    2. PR4 - $?
    3. PR5 - $?

There is no fair market value, Domains can be a pr 0 and sell for 100k and be a pr 4 and sell for $50 dollars. It depends on how much you put up and if they feel like selling it to you.
