    This is crazy!

Here?s a good example of how to not spend your hard earned black hat dollars.

So? apparently? there was a hedge fund conference in Vegas this past week and there was a group that went to Tryst at the Wynn and had a bit too good of a time (On Cinco de Mayo no less). They managed to run up a bill of nearly $190,000. No, that is not a typo. The largest expense was 5 Nebuchadnezzar?s of Veuve Clicquot at $25,000 a bottle. Retail is probably $2,000 a bottle. If you have never seen a Nebuchadnezzar of Veuve before it is slightly taller than Sabrina and filled with champagne. It generally takes several people to even lift it up and pour it. There?s lots of stuff to be angry about with this receipt, I happen to think the $30,000 gratuity is unconscionable, not to mention the nearly $12,000 in state and local taxes. But, the thing that is most galling is the fact that Tryst didn?t give them so much as even a free bottle of Pellegrino (1 small bottle at $8) or Red Bull (1 bottle at $9). Clearly the best value on this bill are the 55 shots of Grey Goose for $770.

No one seems to know who the lucky person was to run their card through to settle this tab but I am sure the Post will pick up a story on it at some point, and this poor dope is now either broke or out of a job. Where were you on the night of May 5th?

Haha, I bet you he's not.

My uni (college) degree is in Investment Finance specialising in Derivatives, and I have partied with a bunch of hedge fund types (Aussies not Wall Street blokes) and many of them pull over $100K/week when things are going well.

I have head rumours from a guy in Corporate Insolvency who is at the very top of the game that in the early 2000s there used to be a Yacht race for all the Wall St investment banks on Friday after market close - betting started at $100K. I personally took 10K off him last week on a bet while we were on holiday.

So, I can tell you with relevant certainty that $190K does not break the bank.
