I saw a website that sells sponsorships spaces on their website for up to $2,000 per interview and it only gets featured for about a week. The website got 140,000 page views and 40,000 UV. They (the company) get a logo and two sentences about them. The website gets pretty big ad sponsors from some major companies.

My question is; as an advertiser would you spend this much and what would make you spend this much. This website doesn't allow comments so I can't tell how the size of their fanbase. The website has been about for a year, as of 2 weeks ago.

UPDATE: They have over 4,000 Twitter followers and less than 400 Facebook fans.

I would think I can do a better job than 140k visitors a month with a $2000 budget... So personally no I would not do that.

If you have a business that you have probably spent thousands of dollars on it's because you believe in it.

You don't want to wait till eternity to start profiting from it and also getting the word out about your business.

A lot of people still build business off SEO.

Before you do a thing like this there are several things that needs to be in place, such as

    1. The type of product or service you sell have to be generally acceptable.
    2. The quantity of services you have to offer.
    3. Affiliate section.

Well, there are lots of variables anyway. What am trying to say is, you will be killing two birds with one stone.

That is my next project come 2013, am kicking in a brand name.

This all depends on several things:
    - Are you sure these page views and UVs are real? You can buy website traffic to make a website look like it receives real quality traffic, when in fact it's either bots, expired domain traffic or pop-up traffic. Not saying this is the case, I'm just letting you know all of the different possibilities since you didn't share the sites URL.
    - Is this site niche targeted to the website/service/product you are selling? If this is real quality traffic, are the viewers of your advertisement actually going to be interested in your product/service/website?
    - If they are interested in whatever it is you are promoting, do you think you will have a positive Return on Investment? Whether it be long term or short term, do you think you will end up making more then the $2,000 you invested to advertise this? At the end of the day, there's no sense in advertising with someone if you aren't going to make more than you invested.

Without more information on what it is you are trying to advertise and the website you are trying to advertise on, it's hard for us to say. If you don't want to publicly state either, then you need to ask yourself the questions above. I'd say if you doubt any of them, don't do it. Personally I agree with innocent_kid. Use that $2,000 to get SEO work done and rank for targeted keywords that will convert. Again, hard to say what's best with the lack of details about what you're selling/promoting.

-All traffic is real. It is a credible website. They interview people with large fan bases.

    - Lol. It's NOT for me. I would never spend that much money with those figures. But large companies such as Mailchimp and Adobe have purchased their sponsorship space.

I just want to know would you ever. It seems overpriced but then again I don't know about the conversion rate, CTR or any of that. I just wanted to know if these figures seem that impressive for up to $2K

I apologize, I was under the impression you were contemplating advertising a website of yours through them. With that said, share the link please. I'll look over it and let you know my opinion.

I wouldn't do it ... way too expensive ... but it all depends on the quality of the users and if they are related to your business

They are the big companies. Simple example: Why do people get higher or even double salary for working in a big company that a normal company? The working load is same? Its because they are big company. We calculate many things but they just have a budget for each thing. nothing else.
