My younger brother is 14, and I want him to get going on the whole money making process. I am thinking on what thing(s) I can start him on? I would gladly take him under my wing, but what I do you need to be 18 (alcohol, etc.). So perhaps online is the best choice so far?

I was thinking something perhaps with eBay?

    Open to suggestions

Show him how to make websites, use wordpress, what's seo, cpa, affiliate and similar basic stuff. After that present him bhw and if he's smart, he'll make money for sure :).

I started when I was 12 years old with no guidance. I started out in affiliate marketing. That wouldn't be a bad start. Though you can always teach a kid how to copy and paste content off websites so going for a blog wouldn't be a bad introduction either.

Either that, or starting an autoblog that takes content from sites like 2leep.com, and monazite it with adsense. I think that could be fun.

Teach him how to make a blog. Many of us learned many things with our first blog. I started blogging just for fun and I found that I could make money onlne. Since then I have not stopping learning how to have money without working. I'm 18, finished High School already, I don't want a job, I have like 6 months to make some good money, I'm like 24/7 in BHW. I'm kinda scary to work for some company, they sucked, or small bussiness, I'm too smart fot them lol.

i'd start with social media, get him tweet attacks, buy him some twitter accounts have him pick a niche, auto feed stuff from other sites through his twitter accounts, monitize with ******, hotfile, clickbank, mylikes, etc. it's pretty easy i would think and doesn't require as much knowledge overall as a whole website with SEO and all would

    IM all the way.
When I was 14, I was experimenting on Neopets. Neopets was fantastic because it had its own online economy. There is zero risk because you were playing around with fake money.

How much experience has he got? Is he interested? Is he savvy?

Is he interested in video games, or games in general? For instance, many MMO games have their online economys. Now, Neopets was a lot of fun, but it couldn't turn into RL profit, since Neopoints don't sell for much. However, World of Warcraft gold can be sold. A more profitable avenue IMHO is the Magic the Gathering online market place. He could buy and sell cards. Tickets sell almost 1 for 1. Like 99 tickets sell for $100 or something.

Learning a market place like that is great, because it gives you a good avenue for understanding an economy. You can then take that and apply it to real life. Plus, there is a tonne of information available for him to read about. I started on Neopets, then when I was 16 I moved my skills to ebay when I found an opportunity.

I'd personally recommend this over learning how to make a blog and getting it ranked. Why? Well, the blog will make him money, absolutely. But it won't prepare him in a well-rounded way. The blog thing is extremely specific. Having him learn economics, learn how to work people for money, that will help him long-term in a wide-range of money making ventures. The stuff you learn is useful for not just online marketing but offline marketing too. But the RL economy is daunting; its much easier to understand if you understand a smaller one. In this case for me it was Neopets. Thanks to Neopets, I have an excellent understanding of economies in general.

The problem is, all of this requires a very specific approach and a very specific type of person. Is he legitimately interested in this?
