Chose a product to promote in the dating niche, bought a domain which is re-directed to my hoplink and setup a very simple wordpress blog with one article that also links to the product im promoting.

Yesterday, according to CB i generated 111 hops to my affiliate product but without generating one single sale which is very frustrating! Do any of you guys have the same problem and if so could you shed some light on this? People are obviously interested but somehow put off by the sales page...

    Thanks a bunch!

where are you promoting your product? Hops are just a counter, it does not mean that once you hit a certain number of hops, you will automatically get a sale. It depends on a lot of factors, of course one important factor is the traffic, is it a targetted traffic? Another factor is the product itself. Does it have lots of competition? The landing page is also a factor on converting a sale.

That being said, continue what you are doing, you just have 100 plus of hops, we really can't tell from that if you really have failed!!!!

what is your URL? I can analyze it for you.

Your landing page probably needs work, the offer landing page sucks, or both. How are you driving traffic?

Either the traffic is not that interested or the product sales page is not that great.

Can you split test with a different offer?

If you think they are put off by the sales page then split test with a different product in the niche. Even though its a bit frustrating but you are no where near the guy who reported to have gone way over 1000 hops without a sale a while ago here on bhw.

1000 hops and not a single sale?! Damn.... i gotta get to work!! :)

Will split test but if i can be perfectly honest, i wouldnt buy from that selling page either if i was a "Hopper". On the other hand the product does have a lot of gravity so it is being sold. Time for a split test then!

I have reported that I have 1k+ hops and not a single sale..Getting like 50-80 hops per day and still no sales...Thinking about another affiliate network...My problem is that with 1k hops I got only 16 order form impressions and 2 order form server calls AND MY TRAFFIC IS TARGETED,my main keyword is "generic" as it's simple how to in weight loss niche

I dont think yours is as bad as it looks. the 1k hops and 2 order calls are split over 8 products. You'd be better looking at each individually

If your top product had made those 2 sales you would have a conversion rate of 50 % if you use clickbanks formula of rate = order form impressions/sales. But if you assume you sent good traffic then that rate is really a reflection of how good the vendors page converts.

As affiliates I think a better rate to look out is how many of your visitors translate to hops.

I,m averaging 450 hops per sale about 1.8 conversion rate on the vendors page, with my site converting at 11%

It depends on what kind of traffic you send in. It just does not convert well for some.
Mine is 1700 hops/sale, and I'm happy with it. My solution is to send more traffic...

111 hops is NOT a failure. Most people would be rejoicing at getting 111 hops, honestly.
Just because the VENDOR'S sales page didn't convert those 111, doesn't mean you should think its a failure.
Try a different product, or try to pre-sell your traffic a little more.

If those don't work, then you've got to re-evaluate your own traffic, they aren't qualified/targeted enough.

This is easy to understand. Since you said your keyword is generic, your traffic possibly freebie seekers. Don't bid on such keywords, you need to target buyer keywords. Generic keywords are good for list building or adsense IMO

you should find a way to make the visitors for your hop links more interested about the product

Yes. Pre-sell them. Make them seek your product before they even land on your page. When they land there, your product is the solution to the problem that they have been searching for!
