Not sure if this has been Published here...

A 2.8GB torrent is floating around out there containing data from 100 million Facebook profiles. But don't freak out: all the data was already available publicly.

Facebook wizard+ 2.8 Gb profiles = $$$$$

HOLY S***! I'm gonna DL it and see if I can find myself in one of those profiles :p
 
but this was all PUBLIC data which can be accessed on facebook, the only problem was the LAZY people didn't change their privacy settings.. anyone could write a bot to get that data and infact its being used even before it as out by many secret marketers :)
 
so, how can we use it profitably.

and how many ID's can we upload per day? i'm guessing it will take a while to get through 100,000,000!!!
 
Anyone want to share how this can be used to make quick profit or long term profit?

I DL it and extracted it, but WTF??? .txt-files that are a few gigabytes? the lagest .txt-file is > 5 GB which is just enormous. So everytime I wanna open such a file notepad or any other text/word program crashes. Btw, I have a 3.06Ghz Core 2 Duo processor, but is somebody else able to open the .txt-files?
 
Looks okay on my end...extracted the txt files...has profiles... ,
Try downlaoding a file with 20mb..and go for the entire file.

I tried it on my 2.8 Intel Quad with 8 gigs of ram and got tired of waiting so i CtrlAltDeleted it. I dont do anything on facebook so it wasnt really worth wasting my time. If i knew what to do with it I may be inclined to chop it up into smaller pieces. Have you tried importing it into sql? It would probably be much faster.
 
too bad facebook will ban you long b4 you get to the end of that list. I remember having a vision of spamming every yahoo finance message board for each stock with my link..a pipe dream that was.

Use Notepad++ for opening large files like these. It's alot faster and more stable. Works great.
