Previously, I did the blog comment job myself. As I didn't have much time, I made it just about 10-30 comments per days and did it for just a few days. And it worked. My site jump from 2nd to the 1st page for the keyword.

Latter, I have someone else done the comment for another keyword, and as she do it all days, she she made about 80 links per days and kept doing this for about 1 week. The result is nothing change to the position at all. In some case, it even drop.

They're the same site, just different pages and keywords

So I wonder if building links fast or slow does really matter. Are there any possible factors for this case?

Building 100 links a day is not going to hurt your website unless they are all coming from link farms and porn sites. It's the links that YOU are linking to which matter because if Google sees YOU linking to junky websites, then it lowers your rankings.

Also, remember that on any given day about 20,000+ websites are added to search engines such as Google, so your rankings will always fluctuate, unless it's been there for many years and has 100,000+ backlinks.

So, what make it work on one case and not on another?

just try and make it look realistic.

i.e. generally a brand new site doesn't get 1000 links in a day (ignoring social sites).

Keep your head under any radar. So perhaps in the first week, get between 5-10, second week afew more. Then after a couple of months start hitting 100+.

Suppose depends how longterm the site is, if you think will die within a few weeks, hit it with 1000s from day 1. Burn bright die young, if want it at at least semi long term ish, go with the slow and steady approach

Many people say that linking should be natural, so starting with a few links and gradually grow that. But what if you start a wordwide adwords campaign? Or start some offer on your website? That should create your a spike in your link velocity. Will google check all those spikes? I find it hard to believe. Most likely in extreme cases a filter is triggered.

What if you have a groundbreaking news that nobody else has? I bet you will get a spike of people linking to your site. Will google punish you for this? I don't think so. Anyway, even though you create a lot of backlinks daily, google will not find them all right away.

Google will never ever penalize you for having too many links at once. This is a very big misconception I see being asked each and every single day.

I mean.. does it really make sense considering how websites which get viral all of a sudden don't get hit with the Google slap.

So why would Google penalize you if you have 1000 blog comment links per day? Pretty simple.

    ALL LINKS ARE THE SAME
ALL LINKS ARE BLOG COMMENTS (repeated for emphasis)

You can have a million links coming to your site. Google will not ban you if the links are DIVERSE!

    So for example:
You use Xrumer ALONE on your website. Massive blasts every week. You will get sandboxed.
You use Xrumer coupled with many other backlinking methods. Especially getting 1/5th of your links which are of high quality. you will NOT get sandboxed.

Then a groundbreaking story is worthy of the links. If you have a BH / spam / duplicate / lots of ads then perhaps not eh ;)
