1. Hire an SEO the day after launching your website.
2. Ignore recommendations, then ask why there's no progress.
3. Contradict your SEO with articles from 1998.
4. Respond to everything with "We prefer it the old way."
5. Ask your SEO why you're not ranking after 48 minutes.
6. Tell your SEO that you "want to focus on [non-seo] thing."
7. Try DIY SEO because "How hard can it be?"

11. Site has the worst UX ever and the client does not want to fix it.

12. Client orders 1 link and provides 5 anchors, because they want to rank for long tails also.

13. Client wants me to replicate what another site has achieved in 6 months, but with a 5th of the budget, onto a brand new site.
 
Use noindex meta tag on every page because you heard it is a good SEO practice. Then complain to your SEO about not ranking. (not kidding, true story)

This goes for freelancers and agencies as well. I used to get these guys all of the time by taking whoever came. Telling these types you have other commitments or might not be a good fit will benefit your health and wealth in the long run. Some of them will insist... charge them into leaving.

would you say the same apply for NOFOLLOW all internal links?

I mean if you link keywords in articles on your page to other onsite pages and they are marked NOFOLLOW would that also have a negative impact on your SEO ?
 
Saar pleez, you hyred the wrong SEO, I can giv u 10 000 000 high quality baklinks and guarantee you have superr rankings in Googel...

Juice would flow differently. Or not flow at all.

So yes, it would remove the potential benefit.

If I do a sales call and they tell me this, it's usually a huge red flag and means the client is going to be a huge pain in the ass. Usually a pass for me.

That being said, there are a ton, and I mean a TON of really bad SEO agencies out there fleecing people for their money. I'm not just talking about small shops. Large SEO agencies are some of the worst offenders.
 
what do you mean? I thought that buying 754714757145741475 backlinks on Fiverr would allow my site to overtake Amazon
