Very confusing, you guys got 2 currency?
We have one currency which is called "Bolivar" ("Bolivares" for plural) but, the thing is, given our yearly inflation (Over 2,000%+ every year), our government decided (Both Chavez and now Maduro) to implement a monetary adjustment and remove zeros from our national currency to "make accounting easier" (their words) but, in reality, it was just a ruse to cover up the financial/monetary mess here.
That xe.com conversion rate is NOT up to date as we have experienced 3 different monetary adjustments in the past 14 years where 11 zeros have been taken down from our currency.
So now, the "official" exchange is 4.58 bolivares for every $...

...but, the truth is, in the black market, the exchange rate is close to 5.
Not to mention, for the past 16 or so years the Venezuelan Government has "criminalized" this black market exchange rate and for many years artificially sustained a very low official exchange rate oriented mostly to import first necessity goods but this was obviously not sustainable given the international oil prices was plumbing it at the time.
So, they had no choice but to adjust the "official" price and open up the exchange market to the extent most local businesses have their pricing structure in USD and NOT Bs.
