A lot of time, we focus too much on the money and we end up frustrated when we aren't seeing the results that we want.

People wont tell you this, but the #1 secrect to making money, is passion.

You have have passion for what you're doing or else you wont want to do it and you might give up. A lot of people do make money doing things that they aren't passionate about, no doubt, but my advice is to find something your passionate, dont look at it as work, but just look at it as doing something you love to do and the result will come.

For example, a lot of people set goals to lose weight, so they try to go to the gym, or make plans to run a mile each day, and they end up giving up in a week, why? because they lack passion.
When they find an excercise that they love to do out of love, such as dancing, or playing a favorite sport, they no longer look at it as trying to lose weight, but rather see it as a way of having fun, and before they know it, the fat is shedding fast,

Apply that same logic to making money. So ask yourself,, what am I interested in, and how can I monetize it?

    +1 to this.

Most people give up way to early and never seen the furits of their labor because of it.

Making any sort of money online usually takes a lot of trial and error. Making money online should never been viewed as a "quick way to profits".

Not to sound negative but following your passion isn't exactly the best idea. If everyone followed that ideology, people would be a lot more depressed because they aren't making money. For example, if there's an expert black belt martial artist who enjoys martial arts and finds that it is his passion, you can't tell him to follow his passion and create a martial arts studio. Why?

Because that is just plain stupid. You need to take certain things in consideration such as market growth, does the area need a martial arts studio, is there any potential to scale up and make more revenue etc.

The same applies to internet marketing. If my passion was cooking, it'd be stupid to just create a cooking site that gives recipes and ideas on how to cook food. I need to take things into consideration such as competition, saturation, profitability, scalability etc.

I'm not saying to discard passion as a motivation. Passion can really make the difference in between carrying on with a business or giving up. However passion alone doesn't quite cut it. You'll need to find a problem and then a solution and then find ways to do it better than the competition. That's all there is to business.

Just because a person is passionate, doesn't mean they're going to be successful. Yes, passion is part of the equation, but there are a lot of passionate people who are terrible at what they're passionate about.

It's not about the passion, it's about management and thinking outside the box. You can have a business making you 5-6 figures/month profit and never step foot on it if you know what you are doing. In today's world, it's too easy to get involved in something that you have no knowledge in it, you just need to be good enough at managing the employees who will do the work for you!

Also your example is way off and doesn't prove anything. There's only certain areas where following your passion will make you money, others won't and you will either be wasting your time or getting a 9-5 job payment.

There are many newbies who develop the passion to READ all threads of BHW and WarriorForum, but they still don't make money... :D

Passion, money, knowledge, action, and the perpetual itch (for money-making) :) And don't forget --- the woman... 'coz, behind every successful man is a woman or women!

Exactly. Fuck your passion OP. You can be passionate all you want, but I would not give a flying F if you didn't have something I needed.

Think of it this way.... If you was lost in the dessert for 3 days and had not drank anything during those 3 days, if the most passionate person you can image came up to you and offered you a house in central London worth $1 million bux and he wanted only $100k for it but you had to make a $1 deposit on the spot.

And while the real estate guy was talking to you another guy crept up on you from behind and said to you in a really boring, monotone voice "You look thirst, want this drink for $1?" If you only had $1 on you..... do you think you'd take the passionate guy's offer or the non-passionate guy's offer that was something you NEEDED?!

    I know which I'd choose.

TL;DR Focus on solving people's needs. Nobody cares about your passion if you're truly solving someone's problem.

I agree with both sides here. Passion is important, but if what you're passionate about isn't solving someone's problems, you're screwed.

What if I'm passionate about manure? Bags of dookie aren't easy to sell. But I can find a connection to gardening or farming. People who grow their own food have problems that may be related to their soil. Now I can present my passion to an audience that has a problem that needs to be solved.

Try to make a connection between what you're passionate about and common problems that need to be solved. If you can't, then you're not really SOL. You'll just have to find something and make it work.

Passion will help you stick with whatever you're doing. But you're 100% correct passion alone isn't going to do jack shit for you.

We're in a global knowledge econemy if you're not learning and hustling as much as you can, someone else who wants it more than you will.

Passion is just one part of the "motivation" equation but passion runs out over time.

Exactly, be passionate about helping people, about solving people's problems.

I mean you can be passionate about jerking off or playing angry bird.... but so what? Who the hell cares, people spend their money when you give them something they NEED or want.

If you own a coupe (2 door car) and you find out you're wife is pregnant with twins, you will NEED a family car... if you then go to a car sales shop, and a passionate car sales person is trying to sell you another 2 door car because he saw you drive up in one.... you'd probably NOT buy it, no matter how passionate he was. Because that's not what you need. He can have all the passion in the world, but that passion is useless if its not solving your problem of not having a big enough car for your growing family.

The guy that asks you what sort of car you want, what you need it for and understands WHY you're there to buy a car in the first place, HE will be the one to get the sale. Of course him being passionate helps, but ultimately the reason you decide to buy from him is because he understands your problem and he is giving you a solution that is within your budget.
