A one page simple political-joke comedy site of mine went viral a few days ago. It got multiple thousands of fb/twitter shares, and links (follow) from major news sites in the country I target. Unfortunately, this site doesn't monetize as it's just a political joke, but what's the best way to pass SEO value from these links to my money site?

My money site is an unrelated topic, but is targeting the same country.

Right now, I just have a link without anchor on the bottom of the page to my money site, but is there a better way of passing the SEO value? Should I put the anchor text of my target keyword, or too risky? Should I re-host the site on my money site (e.g. www.examplemoneysite.com/name-of-viral-site-page) and do a 301 redirect?

    Thanks for any help.

It's in a country where theres really no way to monetize it easily, as Adsense sucks there and they have almost no CPA offers.... and many ads would certainly take away from the site being viral, and would just be short term $ if anything. I'm more interested in passing this SEO value from it as it's getting some really nice backlinks from major news sites.

Isn't that article & matt cutts video saying that the value passed will be the same as just a follow link from the viral site on it's own current domain to my money site then? I'd hope a 301 redirect of the viral domain would be more value than that!

It appears that they don't based on what Cutts is saying. To illustrate, I recently moved a website to a new domain and set up redirects for all the old URL's. Most pages had a PR of around 5 when I moved the site. I did 301's to relevant pages and eventually when the dust settled I ended up with a PR 3 on most pages. PR is diluted from page to page even when there is just a redirect.

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn
