#1 in Google but not much traffic

I built a blog 6 months ago. I register the domain name exactly with my targeted keywords.

Before that, I have research on the keywords:

Google Keyword Tools:
Monthly search: 110,000 (Broad), 22,200 (Exact)

Market Samurai:
Daily exact search: 700+, If rank at top:300+

I then focus on link building from last few months and this keyword is rank at #1 in Google now.(previously it stay at #3 for few months already).

As per Market Samurai research, I should received at least 300 unique visitors since I have rank #1. But I check on my stat, my website only receive less than 100 that come with this keyword.

Is this normal? Or the Google and Market Samurai data are incorrect?

I'm quite disappointed with the result as I have put a lot of efforts in this blog but only getting pity traffic.

Anyone having the issue that I have?

22200 per month = 700.

Normaly Nr. 1 get ~ 55% from the traffic.

Normaly if you Nr. 1 you get ~ 380 users / day.

Nobody knows, but i think the datas from G (searchdatas) are +-10% correct.

Try changing the title of the page. Keep your keyword in there though.

^^ yea you need to remember that your title and meta description are what will appear in the serps. You should try tweaking the verbiage contained therein (while maintaining keyword usage) to see if you can entice people to click your link more.

I agree with the other guys. If you receive less traffic than you should, which is not always as easy to say as the tools are not that accurate when it comes to traffic projections, then you should work on your page title and meta description. Maybe it is not attractive enough or does not deliver the right incentive to click on the link.

I have EXACTLY the same problem. I must be getting 200+ U.V. but getting only 3-5 visitors. This is for UK-->google.co.uk.

The only option to find out if you are not getting enough traffic is to use Adwords in my opinion. Not a feasibly for most users though.

it is quite apparent that google data are wrong.
And market samurai just uses google's data and they just divide it by 30.

So both data are wrong.

There is a search term which i am targeting.
It has 1.5 million searches/month
However, my competitor who is ranked no.1.
His Alexa ranking is 315,000++

Do you think thats possible?

It is just wrong data from google.
