I would like to know if any of you here have any experience using this kind of method?

It costs them 1$ for a 3 days trial to test the website, during this trial period they can cancel their membership, if they don't, they will automatically be rebilled 29.95$ monthly after the trial period until they cancel.

The main goal is to get this rebills, so they keep getting rebilled, without cancelling/doing a charge back, even if the website content isn't that great.

Would it be better to automatically rebill 59.95$ every 3 months instead of 29.95$ monthly after the 3 days trial period?

So it looks less abvious on their bank statements?

Rebill monthly is great only if you have awesome unique content/software etc to provide to people not junk stuff. They will cancel between the first 3 days. If your product is not that great maybe you should stick with fixed price, 1 single payment before they access the site. Or $1 / 3 days trial and then $29.95.

The great thing about automatic rebills after a short trial period is that a lot of people will forget to cancel. So you're likely to get a good month at least out of them. But I agree with lulianh your content needs to be good and what you're offering for the fee needs to be worth it.

Yes, the thing is that they will forget to cancel during their trial period so then it rebills to 29.95$ per month, but i'm thinking that monthly rebills might not be the best solution, because this is more visible on their bank statements and they will probably notice something is going on and do a chargeback after the 1st or 2nd month, I might get a 1 month rebill but the others will be harder to get even though it goes automatically, they can do a chargeback...

so my question is, might it be a better idea to rebill them for 3 months 59.95$ and rebill every 3 months instead of monthly so this is less noticeable - to get a higher chance of sucessful rebills.

What do you think about this? Will it make any difference?

There is a site that will let you have a trial for 3 days for 1 dollar and you must cancel your membership before the time is up. The catch is in the terms and agreement it says that you must cancel 24 hours before the actual 72 hours are up. They say it takes 24 hours for the system to "get it" The thing is nobody ever reads the terms and conditions stuff and I guess a lot of people get scammed. I forgot what website it was but it was for a XXX site. IF they fail to cancel then they end up with $25+ a month membership. :D Too bad for them.

It's not really a scam, since they don't cancel during the trial period then they get rebilled it's written somewhere in the terms & conditions... and yes it's a dating site

So what do you think is best, monthly rebills or do them a rebill once every 3 months in order to keep them longer?

Because if they see the monthly rebills on their bank statements this might trigger alarms, but if they see it only once every 3 months it might pass unsuspiciously?

    What do you think?

I think even with a 3 month rebill you'll still see a problem with chargebacks (if you get any at all) because after the trial period of 3 days you'll still be charging that first 3 month period. I'd say stick to one month - it's less of a commitment for people too which might make it easier for them to justify signing up. I know i've been in that same situation before, getting billed after planning on cancelling but forgetting about it. I just end up using the service for the next month and then cancelling.
Just my opinion on this though.

I thought that maybe rebilling for 3 months 59.95$ or 2 months 59.95$ might pass more discreetly, so then IF I get the 1st rebill, it will take more time for the 2nd rebill to take place (2 or 3 months) then maybe by then they already forgot about it so it rebills again...

rather than with a monthly rebill which is more visible on their bank statements because its monthly making it less discreet...

Can anyone tell me if i'm wrong here?

All posters make good points and one method will work better for some but not others. I think you need to test both monthly and 3 monthly over time and make your own decision as to what works best
