    Soooooo

Been really excited all week waiting to hit that 1,000 posts special and posts a thread. Then I realized I screwed up so hence the 1,002 posts.

I plan on publishing a few threads soon with some of the things I've learnt along the way and useful techniques etc.

    Anyway....

    Method

I see many threads of people wondering what the heck to choose for their Amazon Affiliate sites. Niche selection is hard work. Here's my simple go to.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hobbies

    Yep, Hobbies.

    Why?

Because hobbies are evergreen, people love to spend money on them (in some cases, a lot of money) and thirdly disposable income is on the rise and this is especially true in developing countries that now have more time etc.

The list of hobbies is massive.

How I find low competition niches

Pick something on the list and get specific with the most popular product. Find the search volume (looking for 1,000+ a month) and then look at the SERP. In some of these obscure niches there is very low competition as the big boys like Wire Cutter, best reviews, lifewire etc. have not entered the space.

One step further is to search for multiple terms in the niche and see who is dominating. I often find many niches that have sites that are just 1-2 years old and their traffic has exploded. This is a great sign. You can just run them through Ahrefs or SEMRUSH and download all the relevant organic keywords and bamn you have finished your niche and keyword research.

This is a very basic guide but hopefully one that will help out new to the Amazon Affiliate sector.

    FREE NICHE

This niche is OK. Not done to much research into it but it's CB Radios. Not checked out comp. all that much but I do see best reviews and another authority site hanging around but looking at one newish site that is dominating (don't want to out the site you can find it yourself if you analyse SERP) it's doing rather well.

    Seed Keyword: Best CB Radio

    Some Long Tails:

    • best cb radio for truckers
    • best cb radio for jeep
    • best cb radio on the market
    • best cb radio antenna
These all add up to a good 5,000 monthly searches I think.

Anyway hopefully someone will find these of value and look at them closer.

I plan on doing some more amazon affiliate keyword giveaways and other guides soon. Maybe a keyword research AMA in the future.

Thanks for the good read, thanked your thread.

I always wondered when people use amazon affiliate websites how they deal with the many different ones globally. For example I see amazon for .com, .co.uk, .de and .fr. How would you deal with that?

The majority of your traffic will come from USA but always good to pick up earnings from other countries.

One Link is your answer. They have a wordpress setup guide also.

Thanks! That is one handy tool.

I know there is more to it but in short this is about choosing a hobby, research keywords (I like the way you do it), build website, put content on them, build links and voila like other sites right?

This guide is extremely simplistic and does not replace the need for further keyword research and serp analysis but I feel it's a good starting point.

Yeah content is key. Be consistent and make sure to have a 2:1 of non affiliate content (how to guides and general informative posts etc) to affiliate content.

I'm actually experimenting with the KGR method ATM as a simple method of analysing comp.

Starting with super low comp stuff and building up is the way to go. That way you get traffic begin to trickle in which brings in revenue to reinvent for more links and content and you continue untill your at the stage where your site has a lot of authority that ranking for more competitive terms is a lot easier.

I have a project in the pipeline and I'm aiming to be as white hat as possible. Starting with an expired/auction domain and building high wualiqu authority links to it (editorials from huff posts etc and niche relevant sites).

There seems to be low competition still in a lot of these hobby niches.

Yeah I don't see why not. As long as there is good enough money to be made from the products ($50+ a product and high enough search volume) and the competition is low enough then go for it!
