    My Honest Review

    I first contacted @abradabra on August 27th because we had an idea for one of our local business and we wanted to scale our sales using Facebook ads and a Chatbot. At this time, I was asked to book an appointment as he was ''super busy'', which I did. I booked an appointment for the next and day he didn't show up. He messaged me the next day and we talked a little bit about the services he was offering and what was possible and what wasn't. The idea was to mimic a competitor chatbot to get leads (The competitor chatbot had a sequence of more than 20 questions and multiple paths. The answer @abradabra told me was ''Yeah, we can definitely do this''. He explained his services and told me to go with the Ultimate Tier 2 Lite ($449) + $325 extra for the chatbot as the sequences were complicated and long **Keep that in mind because it gets relevant later on**

    I finally placed my order on September 2nd and was given a TAT of 7 business days from the date of payment (supposed delivery date: September 10th).

    Now, for the fun part:

    @abradabra raises some questions about the bot content for the first time. After paying an extra $325 for the bot setup -- Don't forget that the Ultimate lite package includes a basic chatbot already:

    He asks me for the sequences and content (that is after he told me he reversed engineered the bot) and that it wasn't included in the price after all. After a little debate, he accept to take care of the bot himself (or have his team do it, whatever)

    At this point, @abradabra tells me he needs more time to set everything up and I agreed with him.

    Fast forward to September 29th:

    I was sent the ''bot'' sequence and I was SO DISAPOINTED. Originally, the bot we wanted was in two languages - French and English - and had multiple sequences on both. We ended with only an English version and ONE sequence - 9 questions total. To me, that is the definition of a BASIC BOT which is included in their original offer, so I already felt like I was being ripped off $325. I raised my concerns but they ignored it and moved on to another subject right away.

    Now for the Ad itself:

    At first, I asked to target three cities, two in English and one in French. Before the ad was launched and because the Chatbot was thin in content and because I felt cheated and scammed already for paying an extra $325 for that, I asked multiple time to change the language of the ad (English to French) and the City (City A to city B) for one single reason: our head office is in city B and I wanted more control over what was coming (leads), at least from the beginning. I got a confirmation that everything was ready to go and updated:

    I was also told that the ad would be optimized almost daily (we started with a broad audience although I gave strick instruction about who we need to target - but they told me it would be better to start off that way).

    SURPISE!!! After 4 days of running the ad, I find out that @abradabra never changed the targeting setting. After $75 spent and one half-made conversion, they were still targeting the wrong city, the grant amount was changed in only one of three ads AND they were targeting English-speaking only in all of the ads while the ads and chatbot were literally in FRENCH ONLY!!

    I was stunned. Literally stunned.

    Cherry on the sundae:

    I asked if I could get a hold of the chatbot sequence so I could do it myself. Turns out they use Chatfuel and do not build their own Chatbot as they say they do. One question; what will happen when I reach out 1000 subscribers and I have to switch to the paid version of ChatFuel? The whole purpose for me to pay for a Chabot would've been to NOT have to pay a monthly fee once I reach a certain amount of subscribers.

    Overall, I felt cheated and ripped off my money. This is definitely not a service I would recommand.

    It’s not that I am superbusy. I am very responsive via text.

    I live in India which has very different time zone than Europe & N.America, the major chunk of our business.

    A meeting allows both of us to be online at the same time without a lot of to-and-fro. And also allows me to give the person 100% attention one-on-one via an audio or video session.


    I wouldn’t charge anything just for the sake of it or take your money without reason.

    If you remember, I had given you an honest feedback for a query in Dec. 2018 and declined to take up your business because the products weren’t ideal for advertising.

    I agree for the no-show at the meeting. It was an honest mistake as we were working with Zoom to set it up correctly and it showed the incorrect time (due to an incorrect timezone setting that settled meetings in Los Angeles' time zone instead of New Delhi, India)

    I have had 100s of meetings and this was 1 of the 2 times, I did not show up. The other happened on the same day due to the same issue.

    This was sorted the same day and hasn't been repeated since.

    Again, it was my mistake, I accept it and have learnt from it.

    P.S. Language option is not included in our Chatbot as French users are directly taken to the French version & English speakers to the English as per the settings of the Ad campaign.

    As far as the Chatbot goes, you had asked us to use the same questions as your competitor

    So, the length of the Chatbot was decided based on how long your competitor’s Chatbot is.

    This fact was known to you, as well to us. And accordingly we pitched & you accepted the price knowing this fact.

    We did not mention about adding anything more to the sequence. We did specifically ask if you wanted to add anything to it.

    The pricing of the Chabot was reiterated & what was included was mentioned multiple times.

    Also, as part of the package, you would have received 4 Follow-up Message Sequences as that would have been part of the retargeting scheme (apart from the ads)

    Even after displaying the pricing, we had agreed to offer the remaining add-on as goodwill without any extra charge.

    The ads were setup after the scheduled date. However, the reason for that was the above misunderstanding and lack of these questions from your end.

    Chatbots are always setup on a platform. Your messages showed that you were aware about Chatbots. I am not sure how else would you host a Facebook chatbot on its own. This has been explained on the thread as well.


    About the changes not been saved. The team informed that they were made. However, couldn’t get published due to an error on FB’s end.

    Again, this is unacceptable and I apologise for this.

    It clearly shows more than 1 conversation. Plus, the ads ran barely for a few days.

    We had sent you an email about the timeline for fresh project as well the mention of how the ads are run & data collected before cost stabilise in the OP, the FAQs & the TOS

    As I have always said, I don't have a magic bullet or formula. We have to test & test and then only we succeed.

    A little patience goes a long way. I understand you made this post in an extremely emotional state but it would have been better for all of us if you also had communicated these problems to us as well and allowed to present our side.

    If there are issues from our end, we readily compensate the client, offering a full refund without any questions. However, if you could have expressed your concerns to be me on Skype and waited a few hours for a redressal (as we were discussing before you made the above post out of nowhere), we could have immediately solved this for you.

    A full refund has been processed to you already.


    I wish we could have resolved this amicably but here we are :)


    We’ve learned our lessons and actions have been already taken to avoid such mishaps in the future
