It really depends on the niche you are in. If it is very targeted the video might be a lot easier to rank than something that thousands of videos exist for. I would say by not using text you are just making things harder on yourself.
I mean if you are brand new to SEO there is a lot to learn. You can go into a local business and offer a performance based ranking to gain trust. If you can actually increase rankings you can use them as a testimonial.
well just start building links to your actual page. How new is the site? You can put a lot of effort and start getting better results. Your affiliate probably has better juice in google's eyes right now thats all.
i mean do a search but honestly if you are looking for legit backlinks search with the top level domain you are trying to get links and in your niche. That is the right way to go about it.

yea exactly. Google is a great reference tool to see what people are actually searching for. Chances are if a keyword doesn't show up, it doesn't have high traffic. I would never go exactly by the numbers but I also believe they underestimate that actual amount of searches for terms.
yep the way to go is build some external links to that specific piece of content which I am assuming is an inner page? Then you will start seeing some movement easy.
If you cannot afford to write these articles you might not be getting into internet marketing the correct way. Its like saying "I want to become a professional basketball player and using a bowling ball to practice." Start small and write the articles yourself and take it from there.
we have done this without a trademark. I highly doubt you will apply and get approved for a trademark unless you are starting a legit business and not just another online money site. Twitter has a policy to deactivate an account without 6+ months of activity. We had someone using our clients...
