I'm following your journey very carefully because we have a similar technical approach :)

if I may advice: don't do actions with a strict timing. Setup a timing (like you did, for example once every 10 minutes) but add a random factor % on that timing so it looks more natural.
if your server is not working there is little you can do.
Try to see if you can reach it through FTP, there's a chance only the webserver is down.
I'm assuming you are using an hosting and not a private server (vps or dedicated).
after trying a few, like you did, I decided to make my own and it works 100%. No i'm not selling or offering it, just saying because probably FB try to "fight" this kind of tools, and they might have some strategy to recognize the more common ones. A custom made might go under the radar.
best domains are taken automatically by bots the same second they expire :/
beside some very lucky find, we are stuck with not so good domains if we just go for reg fees
Java if you are looking to work in Enterprise industry. C# if you want to loose your soul.
Anything else it's just fine, find one language you are comfortable at if you are a newbie and grasp the basics, then you can pretty much switch to any other one.
JavaScript is useful to know, and it's pretty much everywhere in some form or in another (it all started up many years ago with its ancestror called EcmaScript and it was running on Netscape Navigator).
jQuery runs on top of it and it makes it more or less messy :P but it's useful to not have...
it's really hard to discover the basic algorithm, if it's not a simple formula.
What you need to look for is called "regression analysis". I did some in the past, with mixed results.
