I try not to stick to one strict method of building links, You want all kinds of links back to your site. Nofollow and ******** also is a good idea because this is more realistic in the eyes of the search engine.

Your lack of sales could be due to your keywords not being buying terms. Also if your losing traffic you need to find out what the problem is and plug that hole. You may find a competitor is moving in on you.
