You need powerful links and not all emds would rank on their own without backlinks and social signals. It depends on lots of factors.

Go for it man, you got a bargain there, may be the site owner does not know the value of their page.

They would not waste time going for privately owned smaller networks, as that is not something viable for them unless it is easier for them to identify such networks through their algo. Let them access what they want to, why fear when you are doing all that you really must.

This is why it matters picking the right niche with a way to monetize in mind. Sometimes getting huge traffic could also be useless if you target the wrong niche. But since you know what it takes to rank sites, you can branch out to other keywords that would be adsense/cpa friendly.
