I'm using EBN and I like them okay. Their support is fairly quick and reliable for sure. However, they won't allow you to run your own backup software. They do back up your sites for you, however, if you want to copy that back up you have to download the backup manually.

What type of niches interest you? There are several programs on JVZoo that show you the hottest products being purchased, based on that you could determine the niches people are mostly interested in. Also Google Keyword Planner to see what people are searching for.
