I would suggest evaluating your link profile and see if you notice anything strange. Since you haven't built any recently it shouldn't take too long to determine if something fishy is going on. Also as someone mentioned previously creating more quality backlinks would be a great idea!

I do like expireddomains, I just find I have trouble buying the legit ones manually without a script or bot if they are actually decent with proper backlinks to legitimize the PR.

I agree 110%. If I don't see backlinks with any expired domain yet it still shows a PR I avoid...I learned that the hard way.
