Before the site gets a substantial traffic, you can use Adsense. It now pays for views not clicks. It's possible you will earn more with Adsense than with Amazon.

Not a user of TikTok, but have heard that is much easier to get viewers than in YouTube. TikTok ads are also way cheaper. Might want to upload your YT videos there. Who knows what will happen?

Have you considered buying one of your competitor's sites that gets 300k traffic? If they are unaware of how to improve their monetization, it could be worth a shot.

If you want to get into the preferred affiliate program it makes sense to do KW research and increase traffic to substantial levels. If your competitors are not SEOs, you could ask them politely for a link to your "hobby" site :)
