So if I summarize this thread, just make an account for the brand to maybe reply to customers tweeting at you .. Tweet some news / updates and that's it. Don't bother with ads or anything.

Thanks for the tips ... And yeah I'm finding the dog niche easy .. and to be fair I have an unlimited supply of free unique content + a good facebook presence that I drive traffic from it sometimes .. How about the fitness niche though I reckon it's much harder .. right ?

That's true too .. And seems to me that people follow very specific brands / people ... it's harder to gain followers than instagram / pinterest / facebook ..

I mean with every brand I have, instagram / pinterest and even facebook seem to have some kind of organic growth .. twitter is so different, it seems like you have to earn every follower you get .. My question is, is it worth it ? it seems so much work needs to go in growing a twiiter account...
