I would not suggest you to submit your website to the directories, search on google about this topic because google will be penalizing many directories now.

I know its not very helpful, but sometime ago I found a website that had a search option for different website themes, so if you'd type business blog it would give you all the blogs related to business. The only thing I cant remember the name of it.

First, you have to make sure that you've submitted it to the needed search engine, for example webmaster in googgle or bing. Usually I notice that it takes about 2-4 weeks for it to appear after the submission. Then it also takes a while to get it to the first page. Dont panic just wait a bit...
