Regular SEO is general whereas the Local SEO is very specific in terms of location to target your local market. Signing up for Google Places or local search engine for business listing can really help. :)

If you are after the views / traffic going to your tumblr, market it to your circle of friends / connections to your social media accounts. :)

To avoid spammers or dummies email, google is asking for phone / mobile number to verify the user's identity they will text or call you for the verification code. Usually, 1 mobile number can accomodate up to 5 gmail sign ups. :)

Just try to unfollow and just limit it everyday.
