Affiliate marketing is still alive but the big change is traffic source like creators, youtube, social media, email, niche sites and paid traffic which are all being used thesedays. And the old banner, landing page method is not much attractive but the product focused content + social traffic...

Its not fully dead. Tiered links still work but I will keep the tiers small, relevant and controlled. So you should keep strong tier1 links your priority.
