Had 1.5 month old site go to PR4 had an old PR3 go to PR4 had an old PR1 go to PR0 I hear many saying PR doesn't mean anything to SERP. If so, why on all of the keywords that I compete, there are no PR0 on the first page of google?

I put up a sight about 8 years ago to display photo's from my high school class from many years ago. I checked its ranking, and its also got a PR of 3, and it has zero backlinks. Just to note, I've got a different site with 8 backlinks and its PR is 1. So, I'm still trying to figure out backlinks.
