What about old sites? I usually use the Index API, and all my posts get indexed. But recently, most of them haven't been indexed. The weird thing is that the console search shows the pages as indexed, but they don't appear in real search results.

Somehow, yes. I publish hundreds of articles everyday (multi site) and got some traffic, but recently, pages aren’t indexing like before.
