Lol not paranoid just real. There are all kinds of people and companies trying to do all kinds of things. You just have to be smart and protect yourself of potential threats since you do not know if actual threat or not. Maybe google is being a stand up company for now but I am not taking that...

With so many people having problems with godaddy, was just wondering. There a lot of godaddy coupons listed around this site, might be the best if your going to transfer it there anyway.

Wow! Just read this whole thread and have to say that google learned early and quickly that the more info they got the more money they would make. It has always been geared to get whatever info they wanted from where ever. Why do you think they wanted to be the biggest search and email supplier...

Out of curiosity why would you want to transfer to godaddy? Only used 1&1 once it was a nightmare to transfer but that might not mean you could have smooth transaction.

Good thinking, I did that and they shut my site down and did not get straightened out (moved it all) for 3 days, that was a good while ago but sure the have not changed.

Really great info and timely for me as I am buying domains this weekend. do not like godaddy, have had the same thing happen to me about the name search and a couple of years ago got a couple of names from them then transferred to hostgator, it was a nightmare for some reason.
