I found the method to be most effective on Facebook since it's the platform with the highest tolerance for spam. I'd strongly advise against PMing. It'll get your accounts banned. There's quite abit more to learn about the facebook algorithm so as to stay within their acceptable limits.

You may not necessarily need to create a page. Just join groups in your area using your personal account (you'll need to have a couple of accounts). These are the groups where youtubers will go to promote their links. Just open up a group, search for "youtube" and it will return a list of posts...

300-400 in 3rd month sounds right. $50 in 4th month, there's something you're missing. Whatever strategy you use should be able to get you new leads consistently (atleast 3 a day) to be considered reliable. The customers you got sofar, what strategy did you use?
