Yes, i mean backlinks to generate keyword-specific external traffic to an Amazon product page. Would this improve ranking solely on the basis of increased traffic, or would it also depend on conversion rate?

Backlinks and influencer marketing would both drive external traffic to Amazon so i do not understand your logic.
