Oh geez haha. Whenever I see this, the "dear sir" I am gone faster than ever. Personally I get people are trying to be respectful, but if its over like blackhatworld and someone says that. I don't think there is nothing wrong with using Sir for your clientele, only if it gets too excessive. When you first meet a potential client, I still think its important to to greet them with "Sir" or "ma'am" I just think it needs to be done in the correct manner for it to not seem off putting.
